| Now GUCCI is constipated? Help please... Okay, first he had that huge episode of strange illness, he was better since Thursday and he had a bowel Friday now he hasn't had one since then Yesterday he ate his Kibble for the 1st day (Innova puppy) he had been eating cottage cheese and rice for the previous days. Could it be the kibble causing him to be constipated? He doesn't act as if he has to go either .. our vet isn't open today so I am trying to figure out when and if this is an ER visit. He is eating normally, drinking normally, has energy like normal and everything. His tummy seems a bit hard and a bit bloated maybe but not so much I'd call it "bloated" just chubby and hard like he just ate but he didn't. I gave him some pumpkin last night but still nothing. Should I feed him the cottage cheese with rice and some more pumpkin or the dog food or nothing until tomorrow? Any help would be appreciated, I was scared it could be an obstruction but from everything I've read it says he'd be lethargic or vomiting or something by now Adrianna |

| I don't know if you saw my thread about Zoeybear's constipation. She was the same way. Eating, playing, not even trying to poo. She didn't go for 4 days. I gave Pumpkin 3 days in a row then someone suggested yogurt. She finally went the morning after the yogurt. Good luck.

| The person recommended plain yogurt, but it was late and I had a peach yoplait (not diet) I gave her two big spoonfuls. Diet has splenda in it. It might not be good for them. Zoeybear ate it up.

| Oh, poor little Gucci! I recommend the Organic plain yogurt - Stoneyfield Farms makes some.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | We had this problem, too, when we first got Taffy. In fact, the day after her wellness check when I told the vet she was fine (making a "liar" out of me) she had no bowel movement. After a day of nothing (and after trying the pumpkin I'd read about here), I called the vet's office and was told to put a little vegetable oil on her food. It worked and we've had no problems since. |

| ZoeyBear- Off to get yogurt! Thanks again! I am crossing my fingers and hoping it works. Ashley - Jotted down the brand .. Hopefully he can get his system working after he gets some in it. Toy, thank you .. I am going to get yogurt and try that... Hopefully it works. It is so hard to watch these little guys have trouble with anything because they are just so good about it that it makes you feel for them. |

| Thank you everyone for the replies and well wishes. I was sooo stressed out because I just want him to be better . His tummy was really hard and he was gassy and laying on his side, then his tummy, then his side, then his tummy and so forth. Like he couldn't get comfy... Anyhow, I went and got the yogurt and mixed that with a 1/4 tsp of pumpkin and TADA!!! he is relieved. He is now jumpy and hanging around!! YAY! He is on Famotidine and I skipped it yesterday thinking he didn't need it because she said only as long as he needs it. Anyhow, I am wondering if this caused whatever is bothering him to flare up again? I gave it to him last night when I noticed his tummy was hard so maybe he needs to finish the bottle. Anyhow thanks everyone!! |
