| Stepped on my girl.. :( Hi. I just came back from the vet and accidentally I stepped on my little yorkie. She is 4 months old and she is 1 kilogram. She cried for 30 seconds....and after that she stopped crying. I call her to follow me and she does it by walking and running sometimes... but she limps. It look like there is something wring with her front left leg... I called the vet and he said that if she walks and she touches the floor with all of her feet..then in a couple of hours she will be fine.... The weird thing is that I stepped on her body..not her feet. Tomorrow I will probably take her to the vet but.... what do you think??? Has this ever happened to you??? Am I the worst Yorkie father in the world??? Do you think that she is ok beacause she can still walk, run , and limp at the same time..is normal and she will be ok????? sorry for the long post... I am just scared and sad at the same time.. thnak you |

| With head hanging down, yes I rolled my chair and didn't know she was under it. She yelped and then limped but an hour or two later she was OK. But Jemma would not even play let alone run. Then when it was gone, you couldn't keep her down. If it doesn't go away by tomorrow then I might worry a bit Carol and Baby Jemma |

| dont feel too bad. accidents happen, just be more careful next time. observe your baby today, and if you think she needs to go to the vet, then definitely take her tmw. (or today if it gets worse) it's a tough call, but personally i usually just take my furkids to the vet just to be sure, because they can't talk to us, and i dont' feel like i can be sure that they are ok, unless the vet tells me they are ok...plus, i always ask the vet a bunch of questions while i am there, so it's like getting a mini course do what makes you feel comfortable, i tend to be more cautious, therefore, i've had the vet ask me. "why did you bring him in?" (because he couldn't see anything wrong with my rabbit) (even though the rabbit was limping at home, but was walking fine at the vet's office) so i just told the vet that he was limping at home, and i wanted to be sure that he is ok. maybe you can put a bell on your baby, so you can know where she is at all times so you won't accidently step on her again.

| I would still take her in and have her checked out. When Tina was about 8wks. old she fell and hurt her back leg. It was on a Friday evening after the vet was closed and my husband said she probably just sprained it. She cried when it happened but later she put some weight on it but I ended up taking her in to be sure on Monday. I was so glad I did because it was fractured in 2 places. I disagree with your vet because it is hard to tell without checking them out what is going on. Better safe than sorry. Hope your baby gets okay and its not nothing serious. |

| I know.... the vet shouldnt have said this ... Tomorrow we will take her there again... She still walks and runs though..... Could she have a fractured leg and dont cry or doing anything weird??? When I had my old dog..Rudy..sometime he fell off the balcony... we wouldnt move without a reason for 5 days... but he was ok.... I just dont want her to feel pain right now... and the bad thing is that I dont have any dog pain killers... (do they actually exist?)) Thank you guys for your support.. |

| They gave Tina pain meds but after she had her leg set. She wore her cast for about 8wks. She is going to be 12yrs. old the 10th of May and she has never had a problem. I know she had pain, she was bound to have hurt breaking her little leg like she did. But, after she cried when she got hurt she didn't cry anymore, even when we picked her up. Hope that baby is okay and the advice about the bell is good. Tina was so little and we didn't think she was ever going to grow. Little wart was soooo tiny, I put a cat collar on her with a bell. Thats what we were afraid was going to happen, that someone might step on her. With the bell at least you know where they are. |

| We had a bell but she took it off yesterday... We still havennt found a collar yet for her size...she is too small. But it is not that I didnt know she was there. She just jumped under my leg as I was taking off my trousers... bad timing... she is sleeping a lot after that... tomorrow afternoon she will be at the vet. |

there are a lot of adjustable collars that can be adjusted to fit smaller puppies. you can search online for them, or you can just attach a bell to her harness.

| Once we thought we had the whole "look before you move" down pact, this crazy cute mutt jumped out of her carrier. She slipped right through the hole for her head, right onto the cement. I screamed, she screamed, her back leg was tucked. She limped around...I gave her half an hour, or I would find an ER. She was running within the hour...but dont risk it, listen to your gut...if you want to take her in, do it for peace of mind...
