| My 2 LB. Yorkie fell!!! Please advise! I was jus attempting to put my little McDreamy down on the floor, when he "wiggled" out from under me and fell. Now, keep in mind, the height was only about 5 or 6 inches I think. BUT, i think he must have hit his head! i quickly picked him up off the ground, and (noticing that he was in a SIDE position) quickly put him on my bed, and he did NOT MOVE! Eyes were bugged out, and he was like a STIFF!! No reaction!! I quickly dialed his vet and the office told me to get him over to emergency hospital ASAP! I DONT KNOW HOW I MADE IT THERE IN ONE PIECE! He did NOT move, i was hesterical, to say the least! I quickly brought him in, (the hospital is only about 2 miles from me) They rushed him in the room with the Dr. I waited, hesterical, and my good friend came right over. About 10 minutes later, they came out to say that he was "stable" WHAT DOES THAT MEAN I THOUGHT????? She said the Dr. would come out and talk to me shortly. Of course, I was upset, sat in the room and waited. She came in about 10 or so minutes later, WITH MCDREAMY, and he was awake. They dont know exactly what he hit, but could be that he was knocked unconsious, you think??? They tried to explain to me, that he should be watched VERY CLOSELY, and we decided to keep him there for 4 to 6 hours. Just to make sure that there isnt any swelling in the brain, or spinal (i think she said that too). Dr. said the longer they go WITHOUT anything more going wrong, the less chance he will have in getting further injuries internally. However, they could not PROMISE, that he WOULD NOT encounter problems later! CAN ANYONE tell me if they have ever had this happen to them before with such a small dog. He was just alittle over 1 lb. for SO LONG, and then, now at almost 2 years old, he's just over 2 lbs. (of which he should stay at now). I thought to myself, "thank God, that he DID get a little more weight on him). I'm going to be picking him up shortly, and just PRAY that he will be okay. Thank you ALL for listening...

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Oh wow, I glad you were able to get him to the vet so fast, I hope he recovers from this, and I pray that he doesn't have any lasting effect. Five inches doesn't sound like much, but since he landed on his head it sounds like it really hurt him. I know you are really going through a horrible time now, and I wish you the best. I'm so sorry.
