| Spay wound not healing Penny was spayed 8 days ago and 4 days ago we took her to the vet because her wound didn't seem to be healing properly. They gave us an antibiotic to give her once a day and some cleanser to clean it with twice a day. We have another appointment at 3 today because we are still not sure it looks right. Can those that have seen what this is supposed to look like a week later tell me if this looks normal? She doesn't seem bothered by it, but we think it should be closed up by now. I clicked on the little paper clip picture above to attach a picture, I hope that works. LOL |

| It looks okay to me. It may stay that way for awhile.

| So, it is OK that it is very pink inside the "split?" I guess that is what we are concerned about. |

| Is there a vet on this forum? Am I correct in thinking that someone on this forum is a vet? |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Yep. It looks really good and exactly how Ramsey's looked afterward.

| lol. Not sure if MFLacy has learned how to look at incisions yet. Kalina82 is a tech and I'm sure she has seen a lot of them. If it makes you feel any better, Ellie's incision was 4 inches long, stapled closed, red and irritated, bumpy and she had bruising around her mammary glands and two staples were twisted and that irritated her when they had to pull them out. All that to say she was fine and only required neosporin for the staple issue. So that incision looks great to me.

| The incision looks fine to me as well (not a vet ) Mitzy was spayed back in august and you can still see her scar and feel it. It was very bumpy and "fresh" for about 3 weeks. She did have complications though so I can not say that is normal for all spays..

| LOL, I didn't mean any offense when asking about the vet issue!! You know how it is with your fur babies. We live about 45 minutes from the vet and we don't want to stay home if she needs more care, but we don't want to drive there if we don't need to. Also, she doesn't like strangers looking at her while standing on a metal table high off the ground. Thanks everyone! |

| Penny is getting better For the record, we went on and took Penny to the vet today. I just couldn't stand the thought of her getting worse on the weekend and them asking me why I didn't bring her in on Friday. Anyway, the vet said she is doing fine, just as everyone said here , and hopefully she will be able to live without the silly collar she has to wear in 3 - 4 days. Thanks everyone for being there and I am sorry I didn't trust you. |
