| Is He Sick? I think Oscar is sick, but I can't tell. For the last hour and half he's been just laying on the bathroom rug. I tried picking him up and bringing him to sit with me, and he just sulked back to the bathroom with his tail down. This is so not like Oscar, especially after my son goes to bed, he likes to play for a little bit and then cuddle up on the couch for some TV. Either my husband or father in law gave him a piece of ham even after I told them not to and I am wondering if he has an upset stomach. Does it sound like he does? Is there is anything I can do? I don't want to go to bed because I don't want to leave him alone like this and I think if I bring him to bed with me he will just jump down and go in the bathroom. HELP!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | It could definitely be an upset tummy from the ham. Ham is not good for dogs. People food can bring on pancreatitis in some dogs. I would watch him closely and take him to th vet of he seems worse. How old is he? I hope he feels better soon.

| Awww, poor baby. Sounds like he doesn't feel good. Keep an eye on him. How old is he? How much does he weigh? How much ham?

| Ham is the #1 trigger of an attack of pancreatitis! Yorkies are prone to pancreatitis so sometimes the tiniest piece of ham can trigger an attack. Emergency vets see lots of cases on holidays. Here is some information for you. If he shows any of these symptoms, you need to get him to an ER vet quickly: Pancreatitis (Inflammation) in Dogs |

| Thanks for the advice-- Oscar is 1 and 1/2 and weighs 11 lbs. He doesn't eat a lot of table food and earlier in the day, he had a hard boiled egg to celebrate Easter which is why I said no ham. I am not sure how much he ate, but I am so worried about him!

| I wrote my last reply before reading the information on Pancreatitis and of course I freaked out. So, I woke up my husband and made him go outside to see if Oscar had thrown up or had diahrea. As soon as my husband put his shoes on to go outside, Oscar was his happy, peppy self. My husband still checked and didn't find anything. Since coming back in, Oscar has been fine, so we are thinking he just has an upset stomach. Of course, I will continue to watch him tonight and tomorrow. Thanks for your help!
