| ear infection???? Hello everyone, I am new to this site and I'm glad I found it. My name is Arlinda and my yorkie's name is Luigi. I already have a question for everyone. My husband looked inside of Luigi's ear tonight and noticed that it was inflamed, red, light blood and irritated. Is this a ear infection or a skin infection? I would have never known because Luigi is very normal right now and looks like he has no discomfort. My husband got q-tips and wiped Luigi's ear out with alcohol and then smeared an antibotic cream in his ear. We will see his doctor tomorrow, but I guess I was wondering if any of you had this experience with their baby? Thanks in advance |

| Welcome to YT. Has he been scratching? The blood is a little bit surprising if he hasn't been. A red, irritated ear could mean an ear infection. Please be careful with the qtips. They can cause damage if the ear isn't held just right so they can't go too deep.

| Thank u Thank you for your reply. No, Luigi has not been scratching. As a matter of fact, he has given me no signs of discomfort. He has been his usual self ( a 14 year old man ). His ears look better this morning, but they still are red and swollen. Gosh, I wish he could talk to me. Thank goodness we have a great vet. As soon as he opens I will give him a call. I'm one those parents that would rather go to the doctor sooner rather than later. No reason for him to suffer. Thanks again, and I will post an update when we find out what exactly happened arlinda |
