| Blood in stool A year ago, someone on forum suggested Tylosin; I looked it up on internet, took it to my vet & he prescribed it. Seemed to help for awhile; then it got bad enough for her to be hospitalized; tested her organs for any blockage with a sonogram. Put her on L/D prescription diet AND Dynamarin. Seemed to be better for while but now we're back to blood on stool & drops of red blood like diarrehea when she goes. Does anyone else have a suggesting? thank you |

| I have dealt with blood in the stools but never chronic blood in the stools. It seems like something would have to be wrong with the digestive system for that to be occuring. I hope you get some answers

| Does she have a diagnosis? Why the liver protocol? What tests have been done?

| What is she eating? Suzi had that one time when she had a stomach upset along with vomiting, however it went away. Something is irritating her stomach lining. I she she feels better soon.

| Hill's prescriptive diet L/D Which is not really liver in it - it is for the liver?? My vet is as puzzled as we are. So frustrating. We're so careful not to let her have anything else like Guinness' food or our food. I'm guessing it is similar to when people have diseases affecting the stomach/liver/whereever. Just hope someone else has experienced it & has something to add besides the Tylosin & the dynactin that we give her now. thanks |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I wonder about treating like this is a liver issue too, what does the vet say about it? It can be extremely difficult to get to the bottom of some digestive issues. Things known to help w/ some dogs are Tylan, Notatum, Colostrum, Probiotics, Digestive Enzymes, white fish diet etc etc. I'd be curious to know if she ever had giardia or any other bug as a pup -- and also, what proteins have you tried w/ her over her life? Does her tummy make squishy, liquidy, loud gurgling noises? Does she vomit? Were fecal tests done in the past?

| No gurgles in tummy; she might have had giardia - I know Guinness had it & they are from different litters, different states but only 2 weeks apart in age. All the blood tests I can imagine were done. From what I understand the Dynamarin is a digestive aid. When she threw up, refused to eat & was lethargic - all in a period of 24 hours, I called vet & that is when she was in hospital with tubes, tests & the sonagram. That is when L/D was started, along with the dynamarin. Was unable to find out anything about the other drugs you asked about. thanks |

| I can't find anything about Dynamarin online. What I find is Denamarin which is Denosyl (SAMe) and Marin (milk thistle). It is used extensively for liver disease as is L/D. How is she doing now?

| We're thinking it will be a chronic problem that we just have to deal with & continue to use the denamarin, Tylosin & L/D. Thanks to all who tried to help |
