| grease Okay, I don't know how this happened because we have a tall trash can with a lid, but somehow Chip got in the trash and was licking grease that we threw away from making burgers. He was just licking it... not eating it. I think Smokey got some too. Please tell me it'll be okay.

| That's what I figured. I just wanted to make sure. Chip has a sensitive stomach so he'll probably throw up. Smokey has a tummy of steel I swear so he'll probably be okay.

| Can't say for sure. Since one bite of fatty meat can trigger pancreatitis, licking grease would probably have the same effect. However, they should be fine. Ellie used to get fried burger before I realized what a bad move that was. She did fine with it then. Just watch them.

| Should I maybe give them some nausea meds just in case? Maybe I should stock up on chicken and rice and pedilyte. *sigh* So far they are acting normal. How long would it take for pancretits to kick in?

| Mine have done that once or twice and they were fine. As long as they didn't get huge amounts of it I don't think you need to worry.

| Goodness they are mischievous today! Chip was just chewing on a price tag and I have no idea where that came from either considering I haven't bought anything in months! Then I just got them underneath the chair doing god knows what and as soon as I got up to check on them, they ran out and looked at me like "What, I'm not doing anything!" Then ran right back under when I sat back down.

| I don't think I'd stock up on anything right now. They sound just fine. Not sure how long pancreatitis takes to set in but probably no more than 48 hours.

| It was grease that we poured out after browning meet and from making burgers. It was only beef grease... nothing else.

It's always a good idea to have Pedialite on hand, along with a basic first aid kit. | |
