| Bad Arthritis Pain, Need Help My dog is 14 years old and went blind about a year ago. She has still been well physically until about a week ago. She is stumbling around and limping, yelps like I have never heard before most of the time when I have to pick her up to go outside, barely will eat or drink water, and just sits in the same spot most days. I think the cause of it is pain from bad arthritis caused by the cold weather and years of walking on a hardwood floor. I was hoping someone knew of some kind of pain medication that I could pick up at a PetsMart that could help her to feel better. If you know of something like that or anything that could help, please let me know. |

| Yes, something for pain from the vet and perhaps a Vit B shot. They work wonders for older pets.

| Cosequin is great for arthritis. My thirteen year old Lady has terrible arthritis and was even on steriods for awhile. Cosequin works wonders for her. When was the last time she had a geriatric blood profile and a physical? At her age I wouldn't try to guess at what is causing her pain. If it is arthritis, she may need a short course of steriods or some pain medication to reduce the inflamation immediately. Cosequin is for long term maintenance. |
