| Help my 7 month old yorkie has red testicles Hi my oliver is an intact 2.8 pd yorkie. His testicles were completely descended for months now. I noticed this morning during our belly rub time that his testicles look red almost blood blistered looking not raw to the touch and one testicle feels higher than the other now. Please let me know what you think. I had not had him neutered yet because we were trying to get he ALT liver enzymes to the normal range before we neutered him. Last month he went in for his preoperative blood work and his ALT was to high for them to proceed with the operation. Since then his levels have been dropping and he had an ultrasound to rule out a liver shunt, they could not find one. We were at the vet yesterday for follow up blood work and now today his testicles have something going on any info would be great!

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I'm not sure what's going on, but if they truly appear that abnormal - I'd get him in. Or, at the very least, call your vet and describe appearance and see if he/she recommends coming in.

| Have you seen him licking biting or scratching the area any? Some dogs if they get a skin irritation or itch will knaw on the skin until it is really red. If it continues to look irritated then it would be best to get it checked by a vet. If it just a skin irritation you can get some anti-itch spray or cream to go on it. FYI, it is not unusual to have one testicle a little higher than the other. Please keep us posted on how he is doing. |
