Senior Yorkie Talker | Daisy keeps digging at her ear.... Daisy keeps digging at her left ear and her eyes are very glossy & runny. She has been very sleepy the past few days too. I thought it was because we have been off work the past few days and she hasn't slept the day away as she usually does, but now I am beginning to worry about her. She is still playing with her toys. Should I take her to the vet? I do have some Oti-Cleanse that I just put in her ear tonight. Any help would be appreciated!!

| Hmmm. Runny eyes that are red could be conjunctivitis or possibly allergies. Itchy ears can be a yeast infection, bacterial infection, mites, allergies, etc. Lethargy could be so many things. All of these together makes me think she really isn't feeling well and I would take her in.

| Oh I'm sorry Daisy Mae is not feeling well. Everytime one of my babies scratches at their ears and has watery eyes it turns out to be either a ear infection or the beginning of a upper respiratory infection. I would take her in just to be safe. Hope she feels better soon!

Senior Yorkie Talker | Thanks for the suggestions! I think she is feeling a little better. She isn't digging at her ears anymore, but her eyes are still a little watery. I am going to give it until Monday to see how she is feeling. I had some antibiotics left from where she had her last respiratory infection so I started her on those and they seem to be helping! Happy New Year!!

Senior Yorkie Talker | She is eating, drinking, playing, just sleeping a little more or maybe she isn't. My husband & I have both been off work all week and she thinks she has to be up with us the whole time so I think that is why she is more tired. She usually gets to sleep all day while we are at work. She didn't dig at her ear any yesterday, but her eyes are still a little runny. I have some antibiotic ear drops & antibiotics by mouth from when she had her last respiratory infection (like 3 weeks ago!) She may just be prone to get these in the winter time! I am going to give it to Monday to see how she is feeling unless she gets worse and then I will take her to the vet in the morning. I will keep you posted!

| Are the antibiotcs by mouth still good? Usually they don't last but 10-12 days and need to be thrown away. Make sure to double check before you give them. I hope she feels better soon!
