| Corky may have had an OD'd on Frontline! Hey, I don't know if anyone is awake but I am really concerned. I went away for a long week-end and left Corky with a neighbor of mine who also has a Yorkie. When I got back on Sunday night I picked up Corky at 11:30 at night because I couldn't stand another moment away from him. Monday he was due for his bath and his Frontline monthly. I did both and then when I met my neighbor in the park she asked "do you put Frontline on Corky?" "Yes, I said, of course". "Oh, well I put some Frontline spray on him yesterday at the same time as I sprayed my dog". At the time I didn't think anything, though I wondered why she didn't bother calling me on my cell phone before doing this or why she thought he needed it, he doesn't have any fleas at all. So last night we put his food out as usual, but he didn't eat it. My husband finally hand fed him and got him to eat. By 10:00 last night I had to pick him up to go for his walk. He peed once then asked to go back in. This morning he has refused to move at all and is curled up in a tight fetal position. I am going to run him to the vet (not literally, I am carrying him in his bag). We have been using Frontline for months with no problems. I am sure it is thanks to my "friendly" neighbor that he is sick and suffering an OD. I am SO WORRIED. My poor little guy. He never complains but he is moaning a little now. oooooh. |

| Poor baby! I would take him to the vet ASAP. Hope it is nothing serious and that he was just happy to be home. Sometimes our Toto sleeps and seems to totally forget her regular routine if she has been away from home for a while. Will say a prayer for little Corky! Please let us know what you learn from the vet.

| hope corky is okay I would be furious if anyone put anything on my baby prudence without my permission It is very rude It would be like one of your children staying the night somewhere and the person giving them medicine without your permission.I would get your corky to a vet as soon as possible just for your own peace of mind and send them the bill. dianne and prudence |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I hope he's ok ! I would have been upset too - small dogs react different to medicine and hopefully she didn't use too much & he was just tired but I think I'd be worried too - GOOD LUCK ~! |

| Oh my! Please post and let us know how he is today. I would be VERY upset if someone did that to my dog. I think it is very odd that she treated him with it. Please post on his condition. It may be something you need to warn others about. I'd never think I'd have to tell someone not to treat my dog with anything while they were watching her! Sure hope he is all better now. |

| Corky is fine for the most part Thanks for all of your comments and concern but happily Corky will be fine despite his stupid mother! Apparently Frontline works with the oils on the skin. That is why one must wait 2-5 days from their last bath before applying it, otherwise the pores are open and not protected from the Frontline being absorbed by the body. I barely waited an hour from his bath till I applied the Frontline. I didn't reread the instrux until too late. Plus he is only 8 pounds, so I think it was a bit much for him. He is eating and drinking again and had a short walk where he had his normal energy I am happy to say. This morning was so bizarre for me, I had never ever seen him refuse the leash and keys (when I jingle them) like that! Oh, as for that "kindly" neighbor, did I mention that she also took the liberty of clipping all the hair around his ears that I have been trying to grow out for more than three months since a nightmare clip! No, I didn't yell at her or anything, she's my neighbor and believe me, it is better to keep the peace. Also, she truly meant well. Unfortunately, Corky still has his terrible skin allergy and is back on the Cortizone cream. Oh well....Overall he is OK. Thanks again everyone. |

| Thanx Sheila. Unfortunately there are a lot of other people, the ones who steal dogs, lie about AKC papers, abuse animals, etc. that I prefer to expend my negative energies on. Someone who honestly meant only the best I can't attack. Everyone makes mistakes and she did do us a big favor by taking Corky at the last minute before my birthday week-end. What more can I say. Have a good week and thanks for taking the time to respond. |

| I am glad Corky is well again and it didn't turn out too serious. I also think it's nice the way you are handleing the situation with your neighbor. You are seeing it as "her only meaning well" and meant no harm. Maybe in the future if she ever watches Corky again you can mention to not give any meds or haircuts without first checking with you and mention what happen with the Frontline experience. Thanks for letting us all know that it's best to give Frontline 2-5 days AFTER the bath, this is important to know.

Donating YT 14K Club Member | Good to hear that Corky is okay again. Glad that you posted that about waiting. I've always given mine as soon as they are dry. But next time, I will wait. Your neighbor meant well. She probably thought she was saving you the hassle since she knew you'd be tired from your trip. Don't let it get to you. She meant no harm.

| Thank God he is ok! Phew...that was a close one! And, I didn't know you were supposed to wait 2-3 days after a bath to apply it. Actually, I had heard that, but never heard the reason why. Now that I understand, I will certainly wait. Thanks for the 411. |
