| Need help, bile vomit Wondering if anyone can help with a possible diagnosis. Our dog Katie is a 7 year old yorkie/jack russell mix. Two weeks ago she vomited just before her dinner, a liquid bile type vomit. She then ate and was fine for 4 days or so. Then she vomited again right before a meal. Then was fine for 3 days or so, then again right before a meal same type of vomit. The vet put her on 2 antibiotics, actigol to help her gall bladder and metaclopramide for the nausea. Also did an ultrasound of the abdomen and only abnormality was some goo in the gall bladder. Blood test revealed all normal except bilirubin was .4 (normal is .1-.3). After about 36 hours on these drugs she vomited twice, once bile, once food. Then vomited again 12 hours later, they switched to serenia for anti-nausea and she vomited again 12 hours later, then was admitted to the hospital. Ultrasound at that time revealed no changes, blood work was normal with bilirubin in normal range at .1. In the hospital was put on fluids and injectable serenia, metaclopramide as well as antibiotics. Seems to be doing fine in the hospital, was fasted for 24 hours then started on food and no vomiting for about 12 hours. The whole time of this she has been her normal self other than when she vomits, lots of energy etc. So anyone had something similar or have possible ideas? She is under the care of a competent board certified internal medicine vet but I don't like not having a diagnosis. |

| Oh gosh. I don't have any experience with it, but I sure do hope your baby is feeling better soon. I'd put Katie on the boiled chicken breast and rice for a while and stay away from the Kibble. What are you feeding her? I hate to say this, but it almost sounds like the reactions to the foods that have been recalled. WAY TOO often they are recalled but not pulled from the shelves. Please try the chicken and rice and update when you get a chance. Katie is in my thoughts and prayers.

| when they vomit bile- it means their tummy is empty- maybe she needs to be fed more often? Layla used to puke bile every morning- and now we give her a snack before bed- pro biotic yogurt and baby food fruit. and that has completely stopped. I'd try feeding her more often- that should do the trick. |

| Her diet is Science Diet mature formula canned food only. She eats 4 times a day, morning, noon, evening and before bed. |

| it could be the food. Science diet is an "ok" food but there are higher quality foods- canned especially- out there. |

| I have no idea what the problem is but Ellie used to eat Science Diet kibble and threw up every week or two on it.
