Default GUCCI Is Vomiting/& had ylw Mucous Diarreah ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED..

He has already seen the vet but nothing came back as a problem, any help is appreciated if you have experienced something like this...

At 3 a.m I woke to Gucci vomiting, I immediately got up and noticed he had vomited about 1 tsp of yellow liquid. I immediately got him cleaned up and gave him fluids and this is what continued:

3:20 a.m Gave fluids - He was very cuddly which is out of the norm for him
4:10a.m he vomited them up -He was very cuddly which is out of the norm for him
4:40 a.m had a REGULAR COLORED AND CONSISTENCY BOWEL MOVEMENT
4:20 a.m gave fluids ( he would not drink on his own but would lap from a syringe) - He was very cuddly which is out of the norm for him
5:15 - a.m Vomited fluids up again
from 5:15 a.m on I gave 5CC of pedialyte every 30 minutes and he held it down no more vomiting all the way until now
6:30 a.m He was extremely Hungry but I didn't allow him to eat, he was acting like a maniac running away from me and being playful but I wanted him to rest so I held him.
7:30 a.m called the vet (this is when they open) she said not to let him eat till he is seen
at 7:50 a.m he had a MUCOUSY Bowel movement yellow in color with pink tinged spots in it ( maybe light colored blood?)

9:00 a.m we went for his appt with his vet they did a Parvo test/Negative, Fecal Flotation Everything including coccidia was Negative, she did an examination no dehydration (probably because I gave him fluids). The vet said she highly doubts it is pancreatitis as he is too young and that he isn't showing all the signs of that, she said he was Extremely alert and wasn't showing physical signs of anything else.. he had NO FEVER either.. I AM BAFFLED...

They gave him a shot for vomiting, some medication for diarreah and some IAMS Prescription veterinary formula food to eat. She said give him 2 Tbs every 2 hours and keep on with the pedialyte. He is Back to his good ole energetic self and ate the food no problem, he is now drinking on his own and no more vomiting since 5:15 a.m .. Anyone have any ideas what this is? any signs to look for anything?? thanks in advance I just want my baby to be okay!

It could be something as simple as a virus.
Since the vet says he is okay, try not to worry (I know, not really possible).

As long as his stool goes back to normal in a day or two and you keep him hydrated, it sounds like he will be okay.

My guess is that it is not pancreatitis but I wouldn't be so sure that he it too young and they don't have to show all the signs. All Ellie had was excessive vomiting...couldn't hold food down when she had it.

Thank you EllieMay, the vet said to just keep a very close eye on him and if he doesn't improve by tomorrow evening or gets worse in between now and then to get him back in immediately ... She said that she trusts her Parvo test fully and doesn't believe the negative could be false and also said that he looks way to energetic and normal to have Parvo but just WATCH HIM were her main words.

Are there any other signs that I should look out for in case it may be panreatitis? Just in case.. Thank you again I appreciate your kind words and it is so hard not to worry .. my husband and I were both up very upset all night about it and couldn't stop telling him we love him very much, we are very worried about him but I do feel a little better with the vets reassurance.

Vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy and a painful abdomen are some major symptoms of pancreatitis.

I will look out for those for sure, he is still really alert and energetic but I am making him rest, he ate 2X's so far (the vet food he gets every 2 hrs) and ate ravenously, I had to tell him to slow down and remove the bowl for a sec while he composed himself... and he has also been drinking on his own (pedialyte).

I am super bummed he can't get his 3rd shot until next week now, because he had gotten ill... .. I guess he will have to stay quarantined until next week, when he is well enough to get the shot.. I have other dogs so I do worry about him contracting something from the carpet or anything that may have been tracked on shoes, even though they are vaccinated you NEVER KNOW... I just try to keep him as safe as possible.

Hi, the vet mentioned that he may have a foreign body but she said to wait it out and see if it passes (the illness), she asked if he had any toys that he had free reign of or if he could have gotten anything.. I had told her he had no toys to play with unless he was being supervised as we are always watching and playing with him when he has toys and the most he has that he could chew is his rope tire, also I told her he sleeps with a flat doggy bear but the doggy bear is fully in tact. He doesn't roam the house and is confined to one area with us.

She said it is unlikely that he has any toy parts in him and he didn't seem to be exhibiting enough signs for her to warrant an X-ray but she did say if he doesn't start improving by tomorrow she wants an X-ray (which is fine by me I just want this little guy to be ok). He has already improved but I am worried it will return...

So far , So good, he has not vomited since 5:15 a.m and has not gone diarreah anymore ( it could be because of the meds ) but his stool is now back to normal color and solid, however I did notice a slight mucous film on a portion of it. He is drinking on his own and eating now without a problem every 2 hours 2Tbs of the food she sent home. I am keeping my fingers crossed and praying he just has a virus that will run it's course but I am watching him like a hawk! Is there any sign I should watch out for in case of a Foreign Body?

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INPUT AS WELL I AM CONSIDERING EVERYTHING RIGHT NOW

WHAT he is too young -no way that is not true at all so she gave you meds and never did blood work or xray on a vomitting dog - what is the deal with these vets - first thing is xray for blockage and second is full blood panel with cpli and tli test for pancreas - what was the anti-vomitting given - metoclopramide?

The Vet gave him a shot for vomiting and some flagyl for the diarrhea, he has not vomited since 5:15 a.m yesterday and his stools are now hardened (due to the flagyl?) I thought the same when she said he was too young, but she is a great vet and I trusted her judgement. Is there anything I should watch out for? for the moment he has been eating the IAMS Intestinal care prescription food every 2 hours 2-3 tbs and drinking pedialyte fine. I just don't know what else to look for .. his tummy was gurgling last night but it stopped shortly after the vomiting.

Cerenia is what the medication was called... if you can offer any suggestions I am willing to listen, if he is fine and doesn't have another problem should I still take him back?
