yorkie and sausage Hi everyone, I havent posted in a while cause i have been very busy lately, but now i have a problem. My daughter had some lunch left over. some eggs and sausage. i didnt realize she had sausage when i told her she could mix it with Jack and Daisy's food dishes. Now Jack is not feeling well. he is resting alot and doesnt seem to have any energy at all. (unusual for jack at this time of day). i think his tummy is upset but not sure if pork can cause something worse. what should i give him for upset tummy? and if it is something worse should i take him to vet now? I have not noticed any runny poo but then he uses the doggy door to go out so i might not know if he did. Daisy (shih Tzu) threw up a bit ago but she seems fine. thanks Tammy, Jack, and Daisy

Yorkies are prone to pancreatitis and sausage and ham are two of the top triggers. Watch him like a hawk and be prepared to rush him to the ER if he starts to vomit, has diarrhea, won't eat, etc. Pancreatitis is very serious and can even be fatal if it's not treated quickly. Here are a couple articles for you so you will know what to look for: Pancreatitis (Inflammation) in Dogs Pancreatitis

Sausage is too fatty for small dogs...it can cause pancreantitus and I believe pork is on the list of foods not to feed. I would call the vet and see what they want you to do.
