| Amy started to limp My 3 year old yorkie has started to limp on her left rear leg. There is no swelling or visual signs that there is a problem, I have also checked her foot pad and toe nails. I have started giving her glucosamine, it has helped a little. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Alan |

| You probably wanna take her to the vet, there could be something wrong with her knee. Does she jump off stuff a lot? My mom's yorkie is quite the little jock when it comes to fetch and was playing so hard one day he pulled a hamstring. He wasn't allowed to play for a week (complete torture for him!) while it healed. To this day, if he plays for an extended period of time, he limps and favors that leg. Something like this may also be going on with your little girl. |

| It may be luxating patella and glucosamine is a good thing to give but not all of it is good. Only certain brands (like Cosequin) have research to back their claims and get their glucosamine from the correct sources. Since she is limping, she needs to see the vet. In severe cases of LP, surgery is often needed. Hopefully it isn't this but it is so common in Yorkies.
