| I just called the hospital, they have them WAITING in the room for the vet. I said to her WHAT DO YOU MEAN WAITING MY DOG WAS LIMP!!!!! she said the vet was finishing up and going to look at her, but I guess she said that she was doing a bit better once they arrived, that she came too. They are calling me back once the vet is in there. please pray for my baby, I can't loose her. |

| she had another episode we rushed her in again. it seems to last about 3-4 mins. the vet checked for low blood sugar which was fine. he says it could be seizures or it could be some other things, we need to do a bunch of blood work and ekg , its est. at $420. he checked her though and said she seems fine, he told us to look for some things next time if it happens and to bring her in, he gave her a anti inflamatory shot and we are watching her. please keep her in your thoughts, I am a mess right now i can't even think straight, I am just so lost I don't even know what to do. I will update more I just can't even type right now, if anyone has any ideas what it may be please feel free to let me know. it seems that she starts to whine/bark and then kind of goes into a coma like seizure or so. she doesn't respond, seems limp but her heart is stil beating. my fiance did CPR both times and seemed to snap her out of it. Doc said he doesn't think its life threatening RIGHT now but we do need to figure out what is going on. |

| I have no idea what it is but I would do blood work as soon as possible. Do her gums stay pink when this happens?

| I will have to check next time. The doc said it may be a few different things, that it even may be a liver shunt. ellie had a problem with her liver right? he also said it could be a rare case of something where they just fall asleep? people have it also. |

At this time it doesn't look like she has either. She does have high bile acids and nobody is quite sure why. We do not know if she was born with this issue or if it developed later in life. I would run the bile acids test to be safe but I say that about all Yorkies. It might be totally unrelated to the liver. Something doesn't sound normal though, so can you do the blood work immediately?

| yes I can. I will be doing the blood work at least for now and see what comes out of that, then we will move on to the other things. I just don't know what to do right now. I spoke with a breeder and speaking with the vet, it just sounds very expensive and long process. They have both mentioned maybe returning her to Brenda. If Stormy has a seizure disorder then Brenda knew this because she would not just start having seizures at 1.5 years for no reason. Right now she is doing very good "fingers crossed". Shes acting much better then she did the first time we got home and its been about 2-3 hrs since she had her last episode. I am so worried and hurt right now. I don't want to give her back but I know I can't afford to spend hundreds of dollars on tests and medications on my own. I know that things can happen and I was well aware of that, I don't have a problem paying for normal things that come with owning a dog, and things that happen in an emergency. I just wasn't ready for this. First her leg and now this, her leg seems to be alot better, it may of been just a sprain from the looks of it but now this to worry about. I pray nothing else happens tonight I just go into a state of shock thank god for having my fiance here to help her or else I don't know what I would do. |

| Some diseases with seizures as a symptom can develop when the dog is older. This could very well be the first time it has happened...

| I have a heart condition and this happens to me often. It can be lack of oxgen to the brain. Where her heart beats but from some reason the blood doesnt pump right. She could have a bad heart valve. In human its know as MitroValve Prolapse. But its like she passes out. I would sugest lots of water. Add possible saltine crackers that you might have to chew up a bit for her. This is what i do. I know im human and shes a dog but it could be a similar problem. Cause can be stress, excitement, being scared, angry or even to much exercise. She may just need to stay calm for awhile till you figure things out.
