| My Poor Wales .... For the last few months my now 10 month old Yorkie Wales has been limping a little bit not much. I just thought that sprained it. Yesterday, my groomer called me and told me that she thought I should take him to the vet. So I called and immediately took him in. They told me that he has Legg-Perthes Disease and would need surgery and wants him to have it ASAP. I'm so worried. I want, and will do, what is best for him, and God bless them, my parents said they would help me with the cost. I have been read a lot of information but what I really want to know is if he will be okay, after. Will he be able to run and play again? Also, what sort of therapy would he be having after, my surgeon has not said anything to be about that, but again this is very new and very fast for me. The surgery is scheduled for the 30th. Do I need to get a second opinion? This is Wales first time to go to this vet but his sister Emma has gone and I know several people that have been going to this clinic for 10 + years. I feel so lost, and sad that I put off taking him to the vet for so long. Any input would be great! Thanks Amy |
