Glucosamine tablets I'm at my boyfriends house and they gave the big dog a glucosamine tablet (250mg). Well she dropped it out of her mouth and my puppy got it. We picked her up fast and tried to get it out, but we think she swallowed it. This was just about 5 minutes ago. Should I be worried about it? Call a vet? Most places are closed right now. Should I just watch her? She seems fine, wasn't choking, and wants to play right now. Can it be bad for a puppy?

Well I definitely wouldn't be giving her anymore since she is just a puppy and I don't think she'd need it. I guess I'll just watch her for the night to make sure she's alright. She's playing right now, so she seems fine. Oh the things they get into!

I was thinking about it.. she might also puke in the morning. but as long as she is eating and drinking ok i'm sure she'll be ok. You might want to give her a meal of soemthing you know she'll gobble up so it can absorb some of the oil in her tummy...

She ate her dinner a few minutes she decided to gobble down the "old ladys" tablet. I think she thought it was a treat. She did drink some water after and just right now. I'm going to have my eye on her. I already have problems with my cat, don't need any with my pup.

Actually, 250 mg is the proper dose for a small dog so she'll be fine. You might want to tell the owners of the big dog that they are not giving her enough to see any benefit. The proper glucosamine dosage is about halfway down the page: OTC Medications

Yes, a lot of those cheap "no name" brands are just a waste of money. She needs to be on a good supplement like Cosequin or Glycoflex. The proper dosage will be on the label. The same goes for foods or treats that advertise that they are good for joints. They just don't have enough to be therapeutic and are a waste of money.
