| sad 9-10 months is a lot like a 16,17 yr old human having babies - not great, you wouldn't do it on purpose - but not usually the end of the world either if proper care is taken. It is too late for most of that care now but #1 a bitch should never be left alone to whelp. Often the pup will die because it needs help getting out which mom (especially a young, first time or poorly bred mom) can't give. Pups may come 5 - 60 minutes apart but not longer - especially if bitch is straining, yelping, worried, etc. She will need calcium and vitamin supplements even if all pups have died. She will need rest and I would get her to a vet to make sure no dead pups are left and no infection is setting in. Obviously, she also needs to be spayed - usually done at 6 months or so. Good luck, let me know if you have more questions. |
