| Quik I hope this isn't a stupid question. Does the quik really receed? How far out should it really be? I was trimming Meeko's nail last night and I think his quik is long. Someone posted this website, How to Dremel Dog Nails @ DoberDawn.com , in another post and in the last pictures the dog's nails are so short. Is that a normal length? Meeko's are definitely longer than that.

| The quik does recede. But if their nails have been allowed to grow too long, you will have to trim them a little at a time to get them back down . You trim them, then wait about a week and trim again, then wait a week. until they get short again

| Thanks! I didn't think it'd recede and be ready to be cut again within a week. I'll be sure to keep up with it now.

Dogs initially have longer nails... when you regularly trim it before the quik, the quik becomes shorter and you can cut the nails shorter... But make sure you don't cut the quik because the quik won't recede when cut... See this photo...Hope this helps... dog_nails.gif
