Default I think Mickey got stung

My DH took Mickey and Minnie out to Potty when Mickey was coming back up from the grass to the walk way, Dh said he yelped and then Lifted up his front paw. He looked around to see if there was a wasp or bee, but didnt see one. Me my DH and son started looking at his paw. I didnt see any thing in or around his paw pads, But my son saw where the side of his foot is red and starting to swell, he fought me holding him to try and check it out and scratched my arms and legs up. but he had to be held down upside down to be checked. right in the middle of the red spot is a little spot but no stinger.
All we had is Benadryl pill form so we gave him a piece of the pill. The vet told me to give him 1 ml for 1 lb hes 4 lbs. ( was told this when he was having allergies to his Precription foods) so we brioke the pill up to what we thought would be 4 ml, not very big of a piece. Hope it helps.I also have one pain pill left from when he had surgury awhile back. if he seems to be in more pain later ill give him that too. He is panting / hot but I think thats from fighting me. once we was done checking it hes started walking on it. but I can see its red and swelled.

Now off to tend to my scratches.

Poor baby! You can also buy topical Benadryl from the store, so that might help too.

I'm sorry to hear this. I was told to put ice on bee stings, but I guess it's a little too late for that. Glad the stinger wasn't left in that can cause some problems. Joeys vet recommended the children's benadryl in liquid form, I think it might be easier to dispense than breaking up one of those pills. Hope you little guy is doing better. I stepped on a bee once, and boy did that hurt.

The Benedryl & pain pill must of helped alot. Mickeys running around playing like nothing happened. I gave him a bath and trimmed the hair on his feet and cut his nails. Minnie too.

Yeah I know the liquid children's benadryl is better and easier for them to take, but when he was having trouble with allergies before, we looked at three different stores in town and none of them had it in liquid, so we had no choice but to get the pills, But the vet said it would be ok as long as he only got 1 ml per lb. I told Hubby next time we go to wallmart or out of town we need to pick up the liquid kind just to have .

Cricket got stung on the face when she was about a year old. But since then shes afraid of flies! All the others try to chase the flies but Cricket skies out when one comes in the house. Poor baby she must remember.

Good to know you can substitute in a pinch. My pills are 25 mg, is an mg the same as a ml?
