| Overbreeding!! Please help, my four year old female has been bred four times already! The last time was an accident; and now she is in heat again and has just tied with my male. What should I do? I try to keep them apart, and confined to different areas of my house but they go at it every chance they get. If she conceives again will this be harmful to her or the babies? |

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | While I am not a breeder if she has been bred four times back to back I don't think that is the best for her. If she is not pregnant this time maybe get them both spayed and neutered and enjoy them as pets.

| Ditto the above posts!!!!!!!! That way you will have nothing to worry about and wont have the problem of separating them for approx 1 month or worry that you are "hurting" your female. Good luck with the probable up-coming litter.

| I would take her and have her spayed. I believe it would be in her best interest and since this is (at least) the 2nd "accident" it seems like the only way to keep the situation from happening again. |

Do your dogs a favor...get them spayed/neutered. This is how I think of it...Would I want to be pregnant 4 times back to back 9-10 months apart? I think not!

| Four time back to back. That must be taking so much out of that female wow you need to have them both spayed and neutered . WE cant help you, you need to talk to a vet and see if this girl will be ok to carry another litter again. these dogs will keep getting together every heat its up to you to keep them seperated. |

| I concur w/the above posts & if you go on in to the vet I'm sure they would go on & do everything they needed to.

| I agree with everyone else... Four pregnancies in a row is too much on your female. I'd take them to the vets and have them both fixed so that they have a longer and happier life. They'll both be happier as pets instead of parents all the time. Good-Luck, Baron's Mom

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I agree with everyone - and think you realize too that this isn't good - just by your post saying OVERBREEDING - that's just what this is.....Good luck to her !! |

| bred for times in a row is way too much, for the second time as an accident.... was already pushing it a bit.... It is possible that you will be luck enough to have all healthy puppies and mom do ok.... keep her on a premium puppy food at least to nourish her and the babies she may be carrying. And if you are blessed with ok puppies and do not have still borns or severe deformities, please act and give at LEAST A YEAR AND HALF of a break between pregnancies. That is what responsible breeders do, even if it means locking them apart or sending the male to your relatives house for about 30 days....
