| Watery diarrhea with some blood... what could that be? My Jade is 6 months old and she has had this for 3 days now. she is acting fine playing, eating and drinking. I am taking her to the vet tomorrow just wondering if anyone has ever experienced this. Thank you.

| Has there been any change in her diet lately? Alot of times, when the diet is changed, there can be inflamation of the intesines and an increase in intestinal bacteria, which will result in what you have described. Usually this can be cleared up with antibiotics and a bland diet of boiled chicken and rice. In the meantime, make sure that she is getting enough fluids so that she does not become dehydrated. Also...and this is going to sound REALLY strange...there are some types of beetles that possess an enzyme that will cause this reaction in dogs if the dogs eat it. So is it possible that she ate a strange bug? Please let us know what the vet says tomorrow. |
