| Help!!! Keoki Isn't Feeling Well!!!! I don't know what's wrong but all of a sudden Keoki went and lied down and is not being himself. I tried to give him dinner but he won't eat. I know something is wrong but don't know what. I haven't walked him since this early afternoon and it is 8 p.m now. I am going to watch him for the next hour but if he does not get better I am going to run him over to the emergency vet but money is tight so if anyone has any suggestions or might know what I should do please help. He was just at the vet on Monday for heatstroke and has been his old self... Help please!!! |

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | Have you offered him some water? Also check him gums....are they pink? If they are white/grey he may need some nutrical or something to bring up his blood sugar level. I hope Keoki gets feeling better!

| They are pink but he is just lying here- I know something is wrong with him but do not know what- I am watching my friends 2 yorkies and he wants nothing to do with them when usually you cannot keep him away from them- this came out of nowhere. How would i be able to tell if he ate something or has an upset stomach??? I feel so helpless because I don't know what is wrong.... |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Really tough to say. Since he just had heatstroke on Monday and you had him out today, he could still be kind of sensitive - was it hot out today? Was he ever out of your sight where he could've gotten into something? Is his tummy bloated or hard? Does he seem "alert and with it"? Will he eat a treat if you offer it? Did he drink enough after being outside? I mean, he could just be worn out. But, your gut is telling you something here too - if he's acting this out of character.

| Well I took him out earlier and it was cool and he was playing all day with the other boys. I just gave him a treat and he ate it but he has been hiding in his sherpa. Do you think it would be o.k. for me to wait until the a.m. before taking him to the vet??? I also felt his tummy and he did not cry. He is not himself but I also don't want to jump the gun- Thank you so much for your help- like I said before I really don't know what could be wrong?? The last thing he ate before he got sick was his poop ( Gross ) which he sometimes sneaks and then later a treat? So I don't know- thank you!!! |

You don't think he could've been stung by anything do you? Are his limbs nice and loose and normal? No stiffness or anything weird there?

make sure he is getting enough water.. (syringe it into his mouth if necessary! ) make sure he is kept cool.. wipe him down with a wet washcloth if he seems to be hot. (if you're hot, im sure he is too ) good job on the maple syrup (you should pick up some nutri-cal next time you are at petco(or wherever you shop) it could be a lifesaver! also.. just watch for any throw up &/or weird looking poop(runny, etc.)! i hope he is all better in the morning!! keep us posted!
