Maybe you should start a new thread asking specifically about her cond. That way you might get more answers. I have no experience with this, so I'm no help, but please know you and Avery are in my prayers. I hope she will bounce back good as new.

Hope she is feeling better. My pom was treated for an underactive thyroid but then she was retested because the medicine wasn't working and she was diagnosed with Cushing's disease. But she is 11 years old. Their were no bad side effects from the thyroid medicine.

I hope you can figure everything out! I would be beyond worried, but you seem to have a great head on your shoulders. As long as you are on top of things you will notice any changes in Avie. And it never hurts to get a second opinion.

You guys will be in my thoughts.

Lady was diagnosed with an under active thyroid a couple of years ago. I promise you, it is no big deal to treat. Lady just gets Soloxine twice a day. A four month supply only costs about $13. She goes in twice a year for a thyroid panel and that's it.

This is a very minor imbalance that Avie can certainly be treated for. I'm so glad it wasn't anything serious.

Lady has other health issues like diabetes so she needs a special diet for that, but nothing special is needed for hypothyroidism. It really is such an easy disease to treat. 1/4 pill in the morning and evening and it completely takes care of it.

Lady's main symptom was that she was really tired. She a senior so she sleeps a lot anyway, but she was really tired. Her coat had also thinned, but we thought it was from her allergies.

Did your vet do a T4 thyroid panel? It's separate from the regular CBC. Or is that what he will do on Friday? A thyroid panel will tell you definitely whether or not she has a thyroid imbalance.

Avery's symptoms don't really sound like hypothyroidism, do they? Vomiting, fever, none of those are associated with thyroid problems, The three classic signs are lethargy, hair loss and weight gain.

Here is some information for you:

Ooooh Meg, so very sad to hear Avie has not been feeling well. I went through something similar in Jan. with Zander, vomiting then the d, some fever. I took him to the vet, he declared it a virus, gave him antibiotic, within a few days he was back to himself, phew!
Perhaps Avie had symptoms for a virus, however ... since they did the bloodwork it may have caught the thyroid problem early enough to where she may not be showing symptoms yet Perhaps the vet can retest her thyroids within a few months?
I will join the team praying for her. Best to you & your baby.

If it is hypothyroid, for sure.. i am SO thankful it is treatable and can be managed easily!! i am still very nervous though.. about the unknown!! THANKS SO MUCH FOR THINKING OF US!! xoxo.
