| I would definately have all my other dogs checked and I would talk to your vet and ask him about everything else as well as weather you need to have anyone in your family check because humans can also have tape worms. Good luck and keep us posted. |

| Take the dog and a stool sample in so the Vet. can give him the medication right then. Yes, if one dog has worms, all others will need to be treated as well.

| Sissy had tape worms when we got her. I took the "grains of rice" that I had found in the bed to the vet. He gave me medication (1 pill did it) and had me treat both of them. No problems since.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | I take my dogs out and to dog parks so they get Drontal every three months just in case. This was recommended by my vet. I order it online. Drontal is recommended for the control of all gastrointestinal worms in dogs including roundworm, hookworm, whipworm and tapeworm (including hydatid tapeworm). Drontal is a tablet formulation of 3 distinctly different proven drugs offering the broadest spectrum of activity. Praziquantel destroys the tapeworm's ability to defend itself from the host. Febantel and Pyrantel embonate attack roundworm via two seperate modes of action.

| Tape worms come from swallowing a flea. With Sissy the main thing we noticed was she was very skinny and very tired (she's a rescue). Then we found the "rice grains" in the bed. Another symptom is butt dragging.

| Exactly! My Scooter was a rescue and had one when we first got him. Had to have a shot to kill the tapeworm. Within the year had another one but no more after that. I made sure he stayed free from fleas and had his fecal checks. You really need to get your dogs to the vet as soon as possible.

| I got my dogs praziquantel tabs, I don't know how long it takes to work, or anything, he hasn't had an accident so I haven't seen his poop.. The only way I knew he had them was that he had an accident and I saw the worms pieces moving around.. *pukey face* |

| Baxter has had them 3 times in 7 months. And he has no fleas. I'm not saying he hasn't eaten a flea but he has no fleas on him. I have found 1 flea on him in that entire tme. it is very frustrating. |
