| is he sore from his shot? My name is Melissa and I used to come here frequently, got sick and ended up ridiculously busy ad now back into the swing of things Anyway I took my two-year-old little boy (Bubba) to get his rabies shot today. Normally when he gets a shot he takes it like the strong little boy he is and doesn't whimper. The technician brought him out, I asked how he did, and she said she was impressed because he didn't yelp, as always Anyway, tonight, if you touch him near the upper fatty part of his back leg, he either yelps or snaps at you. My question is, is that where they give the shots? I haven't seen them given before, they usually take him out of the room to do it. He is walking fine and is somewhat playful...but if you come near that spot on his leg, he yelps or snaps. I am tempted to call the vet tomorrow to ask them. Sorry, I tend to get really paranoid when it comes to him

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Welcome back. Last time Pixie got her Rabies they did it in the back so I wasn't sure where she got the shot. A week later my husband felt a big lump on her right where you are talking about so I called the vet and they said that was where she was given the shot and it should be ok but I could bring her in for free to have them check it out. So it sounds like that is why Bubba hurts there. He should be fine in a day or so.

| thanks :) You just relieved me tons! Thanks I felt silly asking because I had a feeling it was just that but I can't help but get really paranoid and think the worst. Our other yorkie (back at my parents' house) has trouble with his knee caps and it resulted in an ACL tear that resulted in surgery and I just get paranoid whenever there is any pain in the leg area hence why I immediately checked to see if he was walking OK

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I know !I am at my vets so often they are like my family. The vets say maybe you can go a month without having to come here!!! But I always prefer to be safe than sorry.
