| Ranger is sick again but this time I am REALLY worried....Keep us in your thoughts?? Hey guys, little Ranger is sick again but this time he's acting sick and if any of yall know Ranger he NEVER slows down. This am he wouldn't eat (he ALWAYS eats) and has been cuddling with me for the last half hour (which he NEVER does unless he's really tired) but he's also been shaking like a leaf this whole time and he's just staring off into space. You guys I am really worried. I called the vet at 8:01 and he has an appt. at 9:30. My poor baby. I wish he would stop shaking. Please keep him in your thoughts today...

| That's odd that he is just staring. Has he ever had blood sugar issues? You said he is sick 'again'. What did he have last time?

| He has never had a blood sugar problem, not even when he was tiny. He's bigger (5lbs) so I think that helps. Last Feb. I think it was he had an intestinal problem with diarhea. He had it for a day and a half and then crashed. We rushed him two hours off the mountain to the ER, he stayed at the vet for two days on fluids and other stuff b/c he had gotten very dehydrated. He was about 4lbs at that time but like I said, had diahrea for about two days. However, until he crashed he was acting totally like himself. He has had a few bouts of intestinal problems but that stopped in Feb. after I changed foods. I am really worried. His shaking has subsided....

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | What do you mean "intestinal problems" and how was it treated once you got home? What are you feeding?

| Thanks guys, sorry for not updating yesterday. I took him in and he had to stay there all day, got some fluids with stuff (dex, reglan, etc) and I picked him up last night. My vet didn't take any blood because this has happened so often, and we never find anything on the bloodwork. I would have usually just not fed him, watched him, and treated with pepto if the diarhea was evident or Reglan if he was throwing up. The reason I was so worried was because of how he was acting. My vet said that now that he's a bit older (over a year) he may start showing how he's feeling instead of running around like he's on crack all the time. We chalked it up to him eating something wierd again as he went with me to the ranch the night before and although he's always on leash, he is constantly putting things into his mouth despite how hard I try to keep him from it. Maybe I shouldn't take him anymore Anyway, he can eat small portions of his food starting this afternoon, he has had nutrical and probiotics and has done well. He finally perked up around 10AM today. Thanks for the support, I appreciate it.

I Love My Babies Donating Member | That is so scary. I am sorry you and Ranger had to go through this. I wouldn't stop taking him to the ranch with you. It sounds like he likes it. Is there anything you can do so he can not sample everything he comes across?

He does LOVE going. And if you can find an answer to that question please let me know!! I have been trying to find out how to prevent "sampling" for a year now!
