| Puppy 12wks sick??? I am wondering if this is an emergency situation where I need to go to the vet or if I should just let him sleep this off. My 12 wk old yorkie started acting funny about an hour ago. I noticed he wasnt standing up or moving as much as usual and then when I went to pick him up he acted really shocked and jolted around. Then he just sat in my arms with his head tilting backwards, like a bobble doll head. He is now sleeping next to his mom, but seems to shake a little here and there...should I let him sleep or bring him into the vet. |

| Sounds like low blood sugar. Give him some Nutri-cal or Nutri-drops if you have it. If not, use karo syrup. You shouldn't try to just let him sleep it off. If you don't know how to deal with this, call your vet. You can usually treat them and they come around, but they can go downhill fast. Last edited by Woogie Man; 07-30-2008 at 02:29 PM. |

| Please call yout vet. Your baby is very young, and i would not take the chance of him/her getting even more ill. Low blood sugar is a serious issue for tiny Yorkie puppies.

| Yes, definitely get in touch with your vet or an emergency vet. They can lose ground so fast it's frightening! |
