Exclamation HELP...sick baby.

OK Abbey's having some issues, I just took her outside to potty and she kept getting in the poop position and nothing is coming out. She also started screaming and yelping when in this position. Yep, she's constipated.

So I just went to check her butt and at first I just thought a piece of poop had gotten stuck in her hair but no, there is actually a piece of poop stuck. It's like, half way in and half way out. It's really hurting her. I tried getting a napkin and pulling it out but it's really stuck. She seems like she is in a lot of pain.

She also just got spayed 2 days ago. Of course it's Sunday and nearly 6pm so the vet is closed. Should I rush her to an emergency vet or is this somehting I can cure at home. Please give advice ASAP!! Thanks in advance.

Oh, gosh that sounds painful! Grab a q-tip and put some vaseline on it - try putting some vaseline around her anus, even try to coax some of the tip of the q-tip in (just a bit) to get some vaseline in there. Also, with your fingers - you'd want to try to "coax" the poo out of her by trying to grab the end of it, or by coaxing it out by using your fingers on the outside of her anus (like, you sort of push/pull on the outside). It's sort of gross, but it will come out....

Just checking to see how Abbey is doing. Her little bottom must be so sore, poor baby. I hope she's feeling better.

I'm sorry all, I have been soooo busy I forgot to update until now. Yes, I got it out, I did try the soaking and that helped. Abbey was grateful. Now she is pooping just fine. It was a yucky situtation. I felt so bad for her bc she just did not know what do to. Ugh, I wish soooo bad I could give her a full bath though bc she is just so grimey. I am supposed to wait another week!!! Wish my luck with my little stinker! Thanks for all the advice and concern!!! It helped a lot!

Haha boo...it was terrible, I never thought I could do something like that bc I'm very squeamish. But I guess it proves that you will anything to help your baby, she is like a child to me. I had to help her out. Even when I called my fam and told them they were like, "YOU did that??!?" bc as a kid I would gag even picking up poop accidents the dogs had in the house. Oh well, I love this girl, do anything for her.
