I would immediately give her a bath to wash it off of her, and if she doesn't quit vomiting, I would then take her to the vet. Good luck and let us know how it works out.

Interceptor, advantage, frontline, etc.....are all chemicals. I'd definitely wash it off her and wouldn't use it on her again.

I haven't ever had any reaction in mine with frontline, but my cat had a reaction to promeris.

For my dogs I have never applied the full applicator....it's for dogs up to 22 pounds...and mine weigh half that or less.

Wash it off right away she could be having a reaction to it. I also would give her some yogurt a tsp or 2 to calm her tummy the acidophilus in yogurt is healing to the tummy when upset for my furkids.

Was it Interceptor (pill for heartworm) or a topical application of something else? Interceptor isn't topical.

If it is something topical the usual protocol for skin irritation it to wash it off in Dawn Dishsoap and apply vitamin E. Since she is vomiting, this might have little if any effectiveness.

How many times has she vomited and are her gums pink or gray/pale?

Is she better?
If it was right after the Advantage I would find another product.

Yes, I am a veteran of the 'chemicals make my yorkie ill' club......I don't use those on Rusty anymore. His vet said he was allergic to the chemicals, so you are not alone.

So, what do you use for heartworm and fleas and ticks?

You need to find out if it was the heartworm stuff or the flea stuff. Had your baby ever had either one, and did your baby ever have a reaction to it?

If it happened right after the Advantage, it was probably that, especially if it had been two days since giving Interceptor.

If Interceptor did turn out to be the problem you can try Heartgard.
I use Heartgard now but used to use Interceptor.

For fleas I don't use anything but if Advantage is the problem, you can try Frontline if you have to treat for them at all.

Gertie,
I treat the yard. That is my best thing, I try to kill the fleas outside before they ever get on Rusty. I bathe him at least once a week with different shampoos until he developes immunity. Actually the fleas develop immunity before he does..I comb him alot (flea comb) to make sure none are on him and I try to keep them out of the house. I learned all I could about fleas and how to control them.

It's not so bad. Fleas hate water and cedar shavings. Fleas can hold their breath for over a minute, so I make triple sure they are drowning if I find any and make sure they are not in the bathtub waiting to revive when I am not looking.
They hate cedar shavings so much they don't come near them, so I keep those outside around the decks etc., in the yard and use it around the perimeter of the house.

For inside put a little water in a lidded jar and put some dish washing detergent (Joy, Dawn, Palmolive) in the jar. If you ever find a flea in the house or on your baby, put the flea in this jar to kill it. Screw the lid back on, those little buggers can hold their breath and climb and jump out.

Some essentail oils are great. I have used tea tree oil. Mix it with water. Just spritz it on before walks outside. Especially the legs and the tail area and especially under the tail. Because the legs are wet, fleas don't seem to bother him.

I am more concerned about them hitching a ride on my pant cuffs

Hey, thanks for the info.I live in the ozarks on 20 acres of oak trees. So the frontline is also for ticks. I don't apply stuff to the yard for anything. I take the girls out to run and don't want them getting residue on their feet.I don't have a flea problem but I worry about ticks. They fall off of trees \or grass, anything. Any way I'll try the half dose of frontline. That's what I use.
