| Poor Callie....... Dear sweet Callie is in the doggie hospital She started acting goofy when I was at my parents' house. She couldn't stand up straight, she was weak, lethargic and would eat or drink water. I brought her to the vet thinking maybe she got too hot outside. First thing they checked for is hypoglycemia - it was fine. Then they drew labs - her liver panel was elevated as was her BUN. Our wonderful vet Dr. Kaliff explained to me that she probably ate something and her body is trying to excrete it. She might have liver and/or kidney damage (sad......). They are keeping her overnight on IVFluids and giving her activated charcoal in case any of the dirty culprit is still in her tummy. I will find out tomorrow how she did overnight in the morning. I miss the maloosk already :*( (I attached a pic of her from last week)

| Oh no!! Poor Callie...How old is she? How do they know she ingested something, and it's not liver shunt or something like that? I hope she gets better soon!! They may recommend you give her Denosyl and/or milk thistle to help her liver function... She's super cute!!

| Update! Callie was able to come home yesterday after spending the night in the doggy hospital. Her liver enzymes and renal function studies came back to normal limits after 24hrs of IVF and lots of peeing! She is back to her normal self - full of energy and wanting to love and kiss everyone in site! They weren't able to identify what caused the problem, but I will be keeping a MUCH closer eye on the girlie from now on! Thanks to everyone for all of your prayers!
