| Sick 3 1/2 Week Old Puppy! Ok, what do you all think??!! We have our litter of four puppies at 3 1/2 weeks of age. One little girl is foaming (trying to throw up) and will not nurse even when I take just her and put the mothers teat right up to her face. The puppy is shaking like she is cold and that is ON their heating pad. All other puppies seem 100% and are playing. What do you think? I have a call in the emergency vet, but it takes a while for them to call back after hours. Give your thoughts PLEASE!

| I'm sorry to hear about your baby breaks my heart that she is not feeling well. I don't know about puppies that small, but is it safe to give her nutrical to make sure she doesn't crash? I'm sure someone else has bettter advice. Please keep us posted. I will keep your baby in my thoughts.

| Ok, well two out of four are trying to throw up now. The vet called us back and stated that we really should NOT bring them in to her. She said that the Mother may have ate something and that is upsetting the puppies little tummies. No outside dogs have came over and the Mother has nothing wrong with her teats so this could very well be the problem. She said that to drive them to her and back home tonight could actually be worse on them than just leaving them alone. So... we are to keep them on their heating pad and watch them. Only if they get worse are we to then to bring them in. She said not to try to feed them anything as this may upset the tummies even more. So at least we know that much even though that will not help relieve my mind! I will be up off and on all night! The joys of breeding...you really have to love it to make it all worth it and I do!!

Donating YT 14K Club Member | I had a 3 week old pup that got sick on me. In fact, she almost died. I gave her just a bit of nutrical to hold her over till I could get her to a vet. He gave her a shot to rehydrate her and told me to give her pedialyte every 4 hours to rehydrate her. I hope that she pulls through. Keep us updated.

| pedialyte is more for diarrhea but will help with dehydration if you syringe feed it, I would make sure use a bit of nutra drops on the one foaming I would think that is due to stress or heat...so hard to guess tho I would get them to the vet in the am if this continues keep us posted

| I'm glad they are better today I would try to see if mamma is pottying them well. If they get backed up they might get a belly ache. |
