Question Im new And I dont know anything

Ok...so about a week ago I bought a 6month old female yorkie Her name is Isabella.
Here is my problem and my questions. What should I expect from a six month old yorkie?
I only have on record that she has had one set of shots. ON 6/3...or the 8th...not sure the paper has two different dates. Anyway I called the vet and the lady told me that she needs shots ever three weeks. I didnt know this and this doesnt sound right. Does anyone know what to do?
She is six months old and the breeder told me she didnt need her next shots until next month and that would be the last shots she needed and then she would need to be updated every year.
I feel so confused because I dont know what to do about that.
Also she hasnt been drinking water for the last three days very much. Last night I saw her drink a little bit. And so I was so worried that I read somewhere online to put water in her food and then she will get her liquids. well I did and she ate it up. I was so worried. I even wondered if she was weak and lethargic and if I would give her some karo syrup would it make her sick if she didnt need it.
So many questions ...Please help!!!

Welcome to YT! Don't feel like you're the only one. I had lots of questions at first too.

Yes, post in the general discussion section. More people will see it and respond.

It is correct that a puppy needs shots every three weeks. I am glad you got her to drink more water. Keep up what your doing, because you do not want her to get dehydrated. The reason why a puppy needs shots every three weeks is so she can be immune to serious illnesses. There is a new member on here whose little puppy just came down with parvo. It is a deadly disease. i do not know what the breeder said she had a shot for or how old the dog was. However, it is not every month they recieve them .You need to find out what your dog had. One shot does not protect a puppy at all. they have to be given like that because the immunity does not build up in a puppy, and it is said that after three weeks there is no protection. Since your dog is 6 months when she gets the series of shots she will be protected against the most common diseases a puppy can come down with. Small dogs and puppies who do get sick have a very hard time overcoming illnessess.
AND yes, welcome to YT, I did not know a lot either until I came here. This is a great site with wonderful people

Welcome to YT.

Since your pup was vaccinated at an older age, you probably don't need to do as many rounds. In fact, one or two COULD be enough but you would need to know exactly when they were given and your vet would have to be comfortable with this schedule. Your vet will probably end up starting over and giving a round every three weeks for nine weeks. That might be the way to go in this case. Have you talked to your vet about it?

Be careful about giving lepto. It isn't necessary in most areas and can be very dangerous for Yorkies. Also, rabies really shouldn't be given at the time of any other vaccines and combo shots at all are questionable.

Animal Smiley 019 Yorkie business.

Thank you thank you thank you. I so appreciate all of the answers. I know someone made me feel really bad about all my questions. Its just that this is my first dog and of course no matter how many books and websites I have read I still have questions when it comes to the real thing.
Lol I am laughing at myself though because I think I did over react about some things.
She is getting a lot better with the crying. She only did it when she wanted to get out of her crate. She Drinks water...lol I guess she just wasnt thirsty! LOL today she drank like a drinking machine.
