| Please say it is nothing... READER BEWARE! THIS IS GROSS!!! Lexie isn't feeling well. She was shaking last night, and I thought it may be just because it was kinda chilly and she just got a new hair CHOP! Anyways, early today she threw up a LOT and seemed to be avoiding her food. All day she has been...farting...(really stinky) Just a few minutes ago she pooped and it was very very greasy and wet and over half of the stool was a greenish clear mucous (definately not poop!) Now (5 minutes after poop) she is currently acting totally normal. She just finished eating and she is playing for the first time today. Should I still bring her to the vet?

| Glad she is feeling better. Her tummy was unsettled, but, I do not know why it looked the way it did. I think you can watch her and wait... this may have cleared up on it's own. It her next stool is normal then I think she will be allright. |

| These things happen. The grooming session may have upset her sensitive system - my theory is they probably gave some crappy treats to her at the groomer . Agree with the YT above that some plain yogurt will help settle her tummy I use that!! & I also don't go to the vet for intestinal issues. I learned that the hard way!! If she is over 10 months, you can try skipping a meal to let her tummy settle - but I wouldn't do that if she is under 5 lbs or 10 months. Either way, let her guide you, if she seems normal, she most likely is and it may take a day or two for her poop to solidify...You can also add some probiotic to her regular food. It just promotes beneficial flora in the intestinal tract and helps regulate things. Helps a LOT with farting!! I use Solgar acidophilous and probiotic for humans, available at any GNC. I sprinkle the capsule in a few tablespoons of plain yogurt or over their regular food.

| Thanks everyone!! She eats Duck and Oatmeal Holistic Select (made by Eagle Pack). I haven't changed anything...but being spring, she could have gotten into some dead animal () or poo. I will DEFINITELY be watching her next few stools. She just ate a little more. I am putting just a few pieces of food in her dish at a time so she doesn't eat really fast and get sick from eating too fast as I'm sure she is very hungry. I'll let everyone know how her next poo is...ha ha ha. Or I'll spare you the details if it doesn't look pretty.

I am kidding, it sounds like you have it covered. Unless stomach upset goes on for more then 48 hours, I usually chalk it up to an outdoor treat or tasty snack found on the kitchen floor.

| I used to think throwing up a few times wasn't a huge deal because it happens... In January Ellie threw up 8 times in one day. I pulled food and let it go. It ended up being fine but she should've gone to the vet because about a week later during an unrelated ultrasound the specialist saw a problem with her pancreas (pancreatitis). I am definately not saying that your dog has this and I am not saying that I would take her to the vet (or that I would not). I just don't want someone to read this and think that they don't need to go to the vet with a vomiting dog. Ellie's lasted less than 24 hours and it still could've been very serious. Hope she is feeling better.

| If it were me, I'd take in a stool sample. Especially, if you have another one that is mucousy at all. It is possible it is just an upset stomach, but mucousy poops can be a sign of a parasite. Hope she continues to feel better.

| If she had a upset tummy, do you know if she ate any grass outside. My dogs have done some strange pooping after eating grass. They go crazy every spring wanting to eat it everytime they go outside. Good luck, Kathy |

| We ended up going to the vet on Monday as her stool became very bloody. The vet said that she was very dehydrated from vomiting and having the poops. She went on an anti-nausea and an anti-poopy medicine. She is WAY better now, and the vet is totally at odds with what she had. We did a fecal sample and an xray of her belly and nothing was wrong. But is it all good now!!! Thank you everyone for the support!
