| Prissy is sick, can someone help me!!! Prissy has been throwing up,it started about 3pm and she is still doing it, she was fine this morning and even this afternoon. I don't know why. I have tried to give her some nutical because she hasn't eaten anything but she won't even take that. She drinks water and then throws it back up, everytime, but then she will drink more water. She had scrambled eggs with cheese this afternoon, she likes it, but I don't normally put mozzeralla cheese on it, but my husband it, not alot but some, she has never acted like this before, I am getting worried, usually when she throws up like this it will take her a few hours and she is over it. Please if anyone has some advice for me I would really appreciate it.

| are her gums white? You need to get some fluid in her!! If her gums are white....take her to the emergency vet right away! |

| If you have some Pedialyte in the house, give her some with an eyedropper......that will help her get back in balance, and keep her from being dehydrated. Pedialyte is perfectly safe for dogs....the Vet has recommended it to me. |

| I don't have any, and around here I can't go out and get any either nothing is open. Should I just let her try and drink her water?

| I agree with the Pedialyte. You might want to give her just a few drops at a time and see if you can get some to stay down. You might try rubbing some Kayro syrup on her gums to help keep her sugar level from dropping too low. I would also take her temp to make sure that it is in a normal range (between 100 and 102). If she doesn't stop vomiting, I would call an emergency vet. |

| I have karo syrup, what about rubbing her Nutir-Cal on her gums? I did try and give her some because she was starting to shiver, but she seems not to be doing that anymore. Does it matter if the syrup is dark or light?

| Dark or light will do. It doesn't matter. Just don't overdo anything right now. Just a little and make sure it stays down.... you don't want to do anything that will cause her to vomit more. |

| How many times has she thrown up (approximately)? Gatorade or Powerade can replace Pedialyte (as long as they don't have artificial sweeteners) but whatever you give, don't give much unless she stops throwing up. If she is still throwing up you may need to go to the er. This is a hard call because if it's pancreatitis nothing should be given by mouth (not sure about water). Instead, it should be given by IV.

| Prissy is feeling better Well this morning, Prissy seems to be doing alot better, I did rub her gums last night with karo syrup just so she would not have her sugar level dip to low, it seemed to help some, I think it made her rest more comfortable, thanks Chattysmom. She is up and just nibbling at her kibble, but she seems tired, she hasn't gotten excited enough to bark when someone comes in but she will play some. I would like to thank all of you for your help, I really appreciated all the good advice. We are just going to let her rest today, she has drank water without throwing up so that is a good sign and her tummy isn't making any more noises. I know that if I need anything, I can come on here and all of you will help me or least give me some good advice, you guys are wonderful.
