| Please Pray for Wednesday and Me!!! Wednesday the puppy is sick. Thurs. night she threw up foam from about 7pm until 5 am. My first instinct was parvo, but she did not have diarhea and was running no fever. We believe she ate something that didn't agree with her as I am constantly taking something out of her mouth that she has found only God knows where. Got her immediately to the vet the next morning. Told the vet everything that happened. He pretty much ruled out parvo though they are going to keep an eye out. He believes it is gastritis from something she ate. He gave her two shots one to keep her from vomiting and the other an antibiotic. I have an antibiotic to give her every 12 hours and a special puppy food and give her Nutrical a couple times a day. They said she should have been wanting to eat on her own last night. This has not happened yet. So I am now forcing water and food down her throat with a syringe every 4-5 hours. Luckily there has been no further vomiting. All day she has just laid around, only getting up when she needs to go to the bathroom, which isn't often since there is not much in her system. She'll hold her head up to look at you but pretty much stays curled up in a ball on her favorite chair. She has absolutely no interest in food and water and is really starting to worry me so it is back to the vets tomorrow to see what they can do. This is all coming in on me right after my older brother died suddenly of a massive heart attack 2 weeks ago, then this past weekend we found lice in my daughter's hair. So needless to say there have been many sleepless nights around here. I understand what my poor puppy is going through cause right now I don't feel like eating either. Please pray for us. It's a really tough time right now, one of the reasons that I haven't been on in a few weeks and might be a few more before we can get back to a somewhat normal household. To all of my wonderful friends on here thank you so much in advance for all of your prayers, we are really needing them. I'm crying now because I don't know what I'll do if I lose my best doggie friend on top of everything.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry for the loss of your brother - and everything your family is going through. Sending good thoughts your way. Is she eating yet? Here's what I suggest - get some canned white potatoes (sliced) (or you can do fresh, canned is just faster) from the store; mircrowave them and put a bit of butter on them. Give those to her and just those to start. Potatoes are great to give to dogs with any sort of digestive upset bc they are quickly absorbed (energy), they taste good, they fill their tummies (appetite comes back), and they absorb nauseous juices. See if that works and let me know. From there, once she starts eating again - she may bounce back very quickly and can resume normal eating - but let us know.

| I was trying to figure out what could possibly be wrong with her till you mentioned what all has happen. Your little pup is under a great deal of stress picked up from you. I'll be when things do settle down, she will be just fine. I'm so terribly sorry to hear you lost your brother. Prayers are comming your way. |

| So sorry to read your post about your brother. Then the yearly case of lice --- icky isn't it? And then your pup is sick. If she doesn't respond within a few days, then I would request a full blood panel to check her protein level. | I am so sorry for all of your pain, can't imagine. If your baby is like mine, she ate all kinds of strange stuff and got sick but I think she is outgrowing it. Hope we get some good news soon, Prayers for you and your family, so sorry about your brother.

| I had a few moments and wanted to thank every one for their prayers. It has meant a great deal to me to hear such kind and wonderful words in a very trying time. Thankfully Wennie is back to her normal self and if even eating her regular dog food again. She's still has a couple more doses of antibiotics to take but thats all. I think she learned a big lesson with all of this as she has not really been chewing on anything now but her toys. I'm glad the vet was certain and treated her for something other than parvo. The first vet I had called swore up and down to me that she had parvo even though she had never seen her and wouldn't let me finish telling her that she was not showing any other signs. I can't imagine what would have happened if we would have treated her for parvo when it wasn't. I hope to be posting some new pictures of her in a few days. Right now it's such a huge relief to have my puppy best friend back to her old self.
