Peanut Killed by 2 dogs.....

I dont post very often on the forum but do come and try to read some when I can......it is with a heavy heart that I come to you all today....my sweet beloved Peanut that I loved so very much was viciously attacked by 2 neighborhood dogs on Monday and was killed instantly. Peanut was only about 4 pounds and it was truly a losing battle for him, they broke his little neck. This has upset me more than I could ever have imagined. My daughter (13) witnessed the attack and now today feels guilty that she couldnt stop it. Here in our part of NC, we dont have leash laws, and the dogs are free to roam....well roam they did, right into our yard, we live on 5 acres....Peanut was out with my children, doing his business and just being our sweet boy......THEY came into OUR yard and did this to him. When I first came to this board....I thought....these people are insane buying CLOTHES for their dogs......well.....Peanut had clothes....bows.....you name it, he was my FUR BABY as you all refer to them. Peanut changed my heart towards animals, he turned me into an animal lover. He has a place in my heart that will never be taken by anything else. I loved and still love him so much and my heart is just broken into.....anyone else that has experienced this I would love to hear from you. I am going to post a picture of my sweet boy taken about 2 weeks ago....I thought he was beautiful, but Im partial.......thanks for listening!

Oh, I'm so sorry that you and your family are having to go through this. Peanut was adorable and these little guys don't stand a chance against bigger dogs or predators. I live in fear of something like this happening to Scooter. RIP sweet Peanut.

Oh honey my heart is breaking for you. I can't imagine anything more horrible
than what you have just experienced. Yes, there are several member's
who have lost their babies to this very samething. I hope they see your
post so they can help you get threw this nightmare. Your baby was
beautiful. I don't know what I would do. Having dogs roam free is a scary
situation. Suppose it was your daughter they attacked? I am so very
sorry for your loss. It should have never happened! It's senceless.
Only time will heal your broken heart. I hope your daughter get's threw

I am sooo sorry to hear about your baby boy!! He is gorgeous!! I hate to hear these things, it must be so hard for you right now....I know there are many others this has happened to, and I'm sure you'll hear from them. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers, and give your daughter a big hug for us and let her know its not her fault.

I am so sorry to hear this! That is totally horrible! Poor sweet peanut. It is the worst to lose your family member. You loved him well, and he had a good life because of it. One day you can see him again over the rainbow bridge and he will give you lots of kisses. Hang in there.

I am so sorry that this happened! RIP Sweet Peanut This can happen so quickly. It happened to my step-daughter's yorkie while just taking a bathroom break & she and her bf were standing right there. A big neighbor's dog came out of nowhere.....they didn't see him until he was right on the poor baby. They were much older than your 13 yr old daughter. Pls tell her not to blame herself. Luckily, he did survive, but it was a traumatic thing to happen. He was rushed to emergency surgery in an out of town environment. It was his body that was ripped. Our babies are so small & are prey to these other vicious dogs. I am so scared to even walk mine on a leash in the neighborhood or any where because of all these sad sad stories. Sending prayers to you & yr family on the loss of precious Peanut.

I am so sorry. What an awful way to lose your baby and for your daughter to witness. I cannot believe there are still places that have no leash laws!
