Cry Worried.. advice please.

I just signed up for YT today. We just got a 9 week old 2 days ago. He had his shots and was wormed Monday night. The lady that we got him from told us that he would probably be drowsy from the shots. He was awake some today and playful, but just seems like the past few hours he is weak and all he wants to do is sleep. Having trouble waking him up. We got him awake and he pee peed and ate and drank a little bit. Now he is sound asleep again and really out of it. He has also been dragging his butt on the floor. I am really scared something is wrong. Any ideas?

He is a little young yet. You need to go to your nearest pet store and get some nutri-cal. His blood sugar is probably low.

Check to see if he has any poo hanging up. They will do that if they are trying to clean the area. If not you need to get him vet checked. He might have worms.

Try A little Karo Syrup if you don't have Nutri-cal on hand.
You need to bring him in the your Vet for his Puppy Wellness check-up anyway.

Dragging his Butt on the floor maybe a sign of Worms???
Does he have Diareah?

Sounds like his blood sugar may be low. Definetly give him some Nutrical right away...if you don't have any, Karo syrup works too! If it was me, I'd get to the vet ASAP. My KaCee had a hypoglycemic episode when I first got her and it scared the **** out of me!

By the way, Welcome to YorkieTalk!

He weighs about 5 pounds. We do not have a vet yet, but I was going to take him tomorrow morning. Do you think that is too late? There is not a pet ER anywhere close to us that I know of. He has not had diarrhea. He has actually been pooping and peeing good. He doesn't eat much either, but we woke him up and had to keep playing with him and take him to the bowl earlier to see if he would eat or drink and he ate a little.

Pancake Syrup should work also if you don't have Karo Syrup.
Do you have any of these items?

If you can't keep him awake and his body seems limp, his blood sugar is low! Can he stand up? Try calling the vets number..if they aren't open, they should have a recording that tells you what to do afterhours.

Please keep us posted!

Edit: Syrup, honey or jam all work.. Rub small amounts on his gums, the sugar can be absorbed that way

I got him awake enough and put a little pancake syrup on my finger and he licked it off. I put him down at his water bowl and he is drinking water and now eating a little food. Thank you all so very much!!! I am going to stay awake for a while and keep an eye on him. Do you think I should give him a little more syrup?

I would stay up with him until he is back to acting normal. Hold him, and make sure he is staying warm enough.
