Unhappy I am starting to think it is more than a bug bite

I took Diddy to the vets last Monday because of a lump on his cheek/lip.
The vet said it was probably just a bug bite and gave him a vetalog steroid shot and some Clavamox to take for 2 weeks. He got really sick off the Clavamox pills and spent almost 2 days throwing up. He is now on the liquid Clavamox and is doing much better. I looked at the lump today and it is no different. I don't think it hurts him because he lets me touch it and doesn't flinch. He does scratch at it every now and then.

Below is a picture I took today. Has anyone ever seen a lump like this and know what it could be?

I go back to the vet next week for them to look at it. I hope it isn't anything serious! I am so worried about him!

i don't want to scare you, but romeo had bump like that near his nose. they treated it w/steriods and antibiotics. after a few weeks it didn't go away. they did a biopsy and it had cancer cells. they removed it and he's fine now. the doctor said they get these bumps from environmental stuff like pesticides in the grass. get a second opinion.

I have not seen anything like that, did it look like that when you took him to the Vet? It does not look like the is a bite mark, if it looked like that I would get a second opinion, if t looked different I would insist the Vet see him Monday

OMG! How old was Romeo when this happened? What did they have to do to remove it? I am glad everything worked out for Romeo and he is ok now.

I am so scared that this is something bad The vet I saw was not my regular vet and I did not like him at all. I am making an appointment with my regular vet.

Oh my, poor Diddy. I've never seen anything like that before. I'm glad it doesn't seem to bother him too much. Thinking good thoughts for Diddy & that it's nothing serious.

i would definitely take him back to the vet and have him do an aspirate to start with. the little mass should come off as well. it doesn't look like a bug bite to me. looks like a cyst or mass.

When I adopted Charlie last year, he had a growth on his side. While he was having dental surgery, the vet removed it and tested for cancer. No cancer, but glad it is gone.

Also, as Sophie aged, she began to grow lumps on her head similar to your picture. They were also removed by surgery, non cancerous.

Warmly, Deborah
