| BLOODY foam Has anyone's baby acted like they were going to throw up and then have it be bloody foam? My baby Mia just did this an hour ago. I called the Vets as I was out the door and after telling her everything that happened she said she thought it was from her irritated trachea. Anyone else ever have this happen?

| Oh yes When my Buddy was little, he vomited bloody foam and progressed to bloody, foamy BMs. He was treated for ulcers with Pepcid and is just fine now. Still has to have his 1/4 Pepcid now and then, but is healthy otherwise. |

| I wonder if she could have tonsillitis. Did she throw it up, or cough it up? When Maddie had tonsillitis, she coughed up foam, though it wasn't bloody. She would also do a honking sound that was much like reverse sneezing, only different. Is Mia coughing at all? Is she eating okay? Once (a different time) Maddie threw up bright red blood...they never did figure out what caused that and put her on a med that was supposed to "bandage" the bleed and heal it...and that worked. I hope and pray you get it figured out and Mia can recover quickly! *HUG*

| Connie I have had red bile before...only to discover that Twisty was chewing on a red wheel that is attached to the baby playpen...you may want to check around and see if anything is accessable for her to chew in that color...I too was frantic until I discovered what it was...you were right to take her to the vet, it could be something as simple but better to know for sure!

| Murphy threw up a few weeks ago. It had bright red spots in it, but not like a foam.) It freaked me out. Took him to the emergency vet. The vet told me that sometimes it happens. While straining to throw up they burst a vessel. They took x-rays to make sure he didn't swallow anything. Then, she gave him a shot to stop him from getting sick and she put fluid under the skin. I never had that happen to my other Yorkie that I had for 14 years. It kept bothering me that he threw up blood. I took Murphy to his regular vet two days later. He had tonsillitis. (Never knew dogs had tonsils.) Murphy had been doing a lot of reverse sneezing.( I even told that to the emergency vet.) Murphy was on antibiotics, now he is fine. His reverse sneezing is a lot better. Hope all is well with Mia.

| Wow! Thank You all for your input! She has been having bouts of that reverse sneezing/coughing so we've been trying not to get her too excited. She does eat just fine. It was like she was throwing up bile except that it came out red/pink foam - not like when you cut yourself and you see solid blood. Hope that makes sense again... again Thank You all so much. I'm watching her closely and if she does it again we'll be at the Vets in a New York minute.

| If her trachea was sore from coughing/hacking/etc then it's likely that it became irritated and caused the pink/red vomit. I hope its nothing more than that. Praying that she's okay!!

| I just wanted to say "Thank You" to everyone for your responses and prayers. Mia laid around all day yesterday but seems to be herself today. I'm pretty sure that it was due to the strain from that extreme coughing. Thanks again Ladies!!!
