I have a 7 month old yorkie. That throws up bile. It was just once anda while. Last Satiurday it was alot. So I did not feed her for 24 hours. She was fine for a few days now this morning at 3 30 she did it again and then at 6 3o a little more then around 11 30 some more and grass was in it. Any ideas would help me. I'm knew here.

Has she been checked out by a vet?
You really shouldn't withhold food for 24hrs because she is throwing up.
She's just a puppy.
You need to find out why she is throwing up. Pups tend to chew on
grass when they have an upset stomach, it helps the throw up.
Perhaps she ate something that is causing a blockage. Don't panic
just a thought, which is why she needs to get to a vet.

My yorkie Ramsey will throw up bile if she HASN'T eaten. I wouldn't restrict your baby's food...as the empty tummy may be the culprit.

Hello there From what I've read, your suppose to be sure your pup has something in their tummy. Not eating for 24 hours isnt good for anyone. If they arent eating their regular food, you should at the least try to get em' to eat a cracker of piece of bread (to coat the stomach) and that should stop the vomiting. If it continues, she could have eaten something bad... and you might want to get her to the vet... Hope this helps

I'm taking her to the vet today at 2 20. She just won't eat now. I love her to death. I got her for my birthday in november. She is so much fun. Thanks for the replys. I'll get her picture for you all to see soon.

I think it's a smart thing for you to take her to the vet, I really don't think we can be too careful with these little babies. Keep us posted on how it goes, we're all thinking about you!

Tbone used to do this (and still will) when his stomach is really empty. I had to start feeding him before bed because he would always have an empty tummy in the morning. Once we figured out the right feeding schedule for him, he got a lot better. It is so important for your puppy to be eating lots right now! Hope the vet helps out, let us know how it goes!

I agree - Ringo used to throw up bile in afternoons (maybe once or twice a week) after we first got him. The vet suggested he could just be hungry (we didn't think that was possible considering how much he was eating!), so we added a third meal (around lunchtime) and he hasn't thrown up since.

Well for now feed her twelve hours apart and the same time each time. Then if that don't help sensitive dog food next. Then blood work then xrays if that all don't work. I hope it does. She ways 5 lbs 4 oz. He said she looked good. The only thing he seen four of her baby teeth did not come out and the others are right out next to them. So she needs that done as soon as she has the vomiting done. So that will be a nice price. Thanks to all of you who were thinking about me.
I'm a single mom for two years now after 18 year marriage when my husband left me for his high school sweetheart. So times are tough right now with two boys 10 and 12. Anyone else in my boat and would like to just talk let me know. I have no one to talk to. I know I might meet some good friends here with puppies like mine.

When Angel was younger she would throw up bile. I had taken her to the vets numerous times and they said she was healthy & just had an upset tummy. All blood work came back perfect. Our vet says she just needs to eat frequently ( she is 3.4 lbs & will be two in July)
I keep dry food down for her at all times, feed her wet food at night with a quarter tablet of lactobacillas mixed in. ( my vet recommends it for both my girls to keep their digestive track inline) When she has one of these episodes I give her some nutrical to coat her tummy.
She rarely has an episode anymore.
What kind of food are you feeding her?

Sounds more like a liver issue to me, throwing up bile is the first sign of a liver shunt. My Sabrina was sick like that when I first got her and the first test my vet did was a liver function test, it came back a little high but it wasn't bad enough to actually diagnose her with a liver shunt, instead he put her on a special diet which was changed after 7 months or so. She is now on regular food and has not thrown up since and she is going on 3 years old. I'm glad you took your baby to the vet, that really is the best advice anybody on here could have given you, because the truth is there is no way of knowing what is really the problem unless you take him/her to a vet.

Well I tell you what, I think you and your vet are both on the right track. You seem to be quite a good yorkie momma so far! There are so many women on this site that are so nice and helpful, and many have become VERY close friends. I would suggest posting a thread in the general yorkie discussion area introducing yourself and your dog. Usually we provide quite a warm welcome to newbies! And if you are looking for women your age to talk to, you could also post in the off topic discussion areas. Many women talk about DH's (dear husbands) and XDH's there, and there are many women who love to chat online or on the phone! I think you are in the right place! I moved to TX about 9 months ago and the women on Yorkie Talk were my first and only friends here for a while, and that helped me out a lot! Just spend some time on the site! You will be addicted soon enough!
