Sad First Maggie, now Hannah too!?!?!?

Hello my friends!!!

It's not an emergency but... last friday night Maggie started w/ a little very soft shapeless poop (It was not diarrhea). And about 2 am on sunday, Hannah started pooping soft like Maggie They both poop several times a day small amounts (sometimes the quantity of a table spoon and other times a tea spoon of poo - Sorry, that was gross). They don't seem to be in pain and are very active.... They are not eating as much as they use to though... Anyway, they are already on antibiotic and probiotic (w/ lactobacillos(??))...
But what I want to ask is if anybody knows of a natural remedy that I could give to help my babies to get better soon...

Thanks...

Sometimes probiotics can cause diarrhea.
Have you tried rice and or bananas?

I always keep baby cereal (rice) and baby food in the house for the dogs. Sometimes they will eat the bananas that way when they won't eat anything else.

Are they on probiotics for a specific reason? If not perhaps take them off of them and see what happens. Those little buggers might be too strong and need some getting used to.

Default Up date...

I tried giving banana last night and this morning and Hannah had only 3 small pieces and Maggie just sniffed and turn her nose on it
During the night Maggie went potty once and Hannah twice... But Maggie's poo seem better, I could see some "shape" on it - but still very soft....
The probiotic is to help the normal "good" bacterias that colonize the intestines to regulate... It's a very specific probiotic - It can be used even in newborn pups to avoid diarrhea...
I'm gonna try the baby food Is there any you could suggest??

Thank you, I really appreciate your help

I would give a 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of pure pumpkin twice a day. You can add a little corn syrup to it to make it taste a little better. Good luck.

Just give it straight out of the can. You can find it in the area where pie filling are sold. Just make sure it says pure pumpkin (not pumpkin pie filling). Canned pumpkin works for constipation and diarrhea. Good luck.

Pumpkin is a good choice. I use Gerber Babyfood. for very young babies.
Not toddlers.
Did you say they were drinking ok? Keep an eye on them for that and make sure you do get some Karo in them.
Good Luck

Rainbow

I couldn't find canned pumpkin so I bought a small pumpkin and chopped it into small pieces... Now I will have to cook it...
But Maggie and Hannah are getting better little by little... They are not pooping so many times a day, and the poops are not so soft anymore...
They are drinking water as usual
I don't know why but sometimes they eat as usual and other times they don't want to eat anything, not even their favorite food...Then they act weird like if they are feeling sick...

Thank you

I imagine they are getting tummy aches off and on. You could call the vet and see about giving them some Kayopectate. (I think I spelled that wrong.)

My shih tzu is prone to tummy troubles and the vet takes her off food and water fo 24 hours to give her insides a rest, but I think yorkies are to small and delecate to miss a meal and water.

Pumpkin is a life-saver. I placed tablespoons of pumpkin on a cookie sheet, freeze and then remove to a freezer container for future use. Warmly, Deborah

Duck is very good, but has extra fat in the wet food. Be careful.
