| My first thought would be the antibiotic ointment couldn't hurt, but can the ear be licked? Or rubbed with the paw and licked? I don't know if that is harmful if swallowed or not.

| It's too high up on his ear for him to be able to lick it...not sure about the paw rubbing it so that the antibiotic could be licked. I have some 3 in 1 antibiotic in the medicine cabinet. It really won't take a lot to doctor it, it's just a small nick on the edge of the ear. This is so upsetting...I can't believe I hurt my baby! |

| If you have an e-collar there so he can't paw at it and get at the med? Yes, definately put something on it but he can't lick the neosporin... Panalog would work for now if you have that.

| Thanks so much. He's acting like nothing ever happened. It's me that needs medicating now! I put antibiotic on it and I'll just keep watch and make sure it stays clean. |

| I did the same thing on my shakespeare. I bought a grooming kit and spend $50 for it and I thought I could save alot of money by grooming him myself. It looks so easy so I should try it. I started on his ear and then he freak out and I freak out. Next thing you know his side of his ear was bleeding. I got a chunk of skin out. scary and gross !! I put neosporin on it. lesson learned ... I will never use that grooming kit again except for the scissor.

| I nicked Lacy's ear once several months ago..it barely bled though..it was a tiny cut. But I felt horrible. I just try to be more careful now.

| You know, I bought the peanut Wahl to use on Scooter's ears, but the sounds seems to unnerve him, so, like a dummy, I decided to do like the video and use the scissors. Argh!!! I'm so mad at myself! |

| ooh..I nicked Lacy's with the clippers..not scissors. I usually shave the tips of the ears with a 40 blade first and then trim around the edges with scissors
