| Do you know why Jack has diahrrea? Did he eat something that maybe upset his tummy? I would continue with the chicken and rice for now. It helps if you have an idea of why he may have the problem. Is he listless or acting fine otherwise? If he is eating and drinking water? Is he a new puppy? Did you switch his food or anything? If he still has it in the am I would take him in the vets just due to his age alone. I would not rush into giving him the pepto tonite especially not knowing how much to give(JMO) but the pedialyte wouldn't hurt. Good luck, Dawn |

| Keep giving him the rice.. Unless like Dawn said (if he is listless or acting funy) get him to your vet. Otherwise the rice should do it. Bell gets the runs every once in a while so I make sure she has rice a few times a week added to her food.

| He may have eaten a little. Their systems are sensitive when they are young. Hopefully, if he did ingest some of the foam, it wasn't very much... Hope he'll be better soon. Keep us updated. OK? |

I am so sorry you lost you sweetie Yes, I understand but my vet doesn't have an after hours. I will call him first thing in the morning. Jack has been drinking, eating the rice and chicken and he is very active. I was planning on staying up for most of the night to keep an eye on him. But I was wondering about the amount of pedialite how much should I give him ?? Does anyone have any idea should I water it down?? Also is there something better then pepto that has worked for anyone??? Thanks VMS | |

| Did your vet prescribe pepto or any of that type meds? Please know that if you are not sure what is wrong all you do is mask a problem, you are better off not doing anything medically. Then you know when and if the problem really goes away. If he is acting fine, eating and drinking. Then tomorrow if he still has bad diahrrea you can go to the vet. ESPECIALLY if he has been eating a foreign substance. I hope I am explaining myself well enough. Unless you know exactly what is wrong with an animal you should not try to medicate them yourselves, you only make it harder for the vet to diagnose them. |

| Jack Thanks all for your concern and advice It really is so difficult to sit and wait and its frustrating that they can't talk and tell you whats ailing them. Hopefully in a few hours its 1 am now and the vet opens at 8 and hopefully he will be able to tell me whats wrong with Jack. I will keep you guys posted TY again Jack and Mandy's Mom |

| Honestly I would have no idea how much pedialyte to give.Is he drinking water? Perhaps you could just mix some in his drinking water. I think you can do a skin test on a dog to check for dehydration. Pull the skin up like you are pinching it together between his shoulders, if it goes right back he is good if it stays tented for a couple seconds or longer he is dehydrated. Let us know how it goes with him,I hope he is all better soon |
