| depressed/UTI? Kirby is 11 mos and a little over 3 lbs. Vet thinks he has crystals or stones/UTI. he put himon clavamox and we will get resutls tomorrow. However, I jsut feel so alone and worried for my poor bably. he hasnt eaten or taken fluids since yesterday morning. HE did have enough in him to pee in various places around the house. Other than peeing, he just lays with his head down and tiny wimpers sqeek out. He did test a bite of food today and vomitted it back up. I have forced fluids down him since he quit peeing . Is being so ill normal for this sort of illness? geeze , he is frightening me. He is so frail. My hope is that it is the infection adn that in a few days he gets better and better. Worst of all we ar set to leave on spring break without him in a couple days!!

| Any update on his condition? I would be so worrried if my furbaby wasn't drinking. They dehydrate so quickly. Does your vet know he isn't eating or drinking? "Bumping" this up in hopes that someone with more knowledge will respond.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Cali had a UTI with crystals but she did not have vomiting or act lethargic. I would contact the vet first thing, your baby is too tiny to not eat or drink. He may need some IV fluids at the vets. Please keep us posted.

I was up with him a nd at 3 pm he drank on his own ( I had to offer it)and again a few times this morning. He touched a bit of cheese, but vommited it back up.Vet thinking possibly two illnesses going on, but still checking things out. It is so sad and scary.

| What kind of crystals did the vet find? This is important to know...If they are ammonium bi/urate, I would most definitely have your pup bile acid tested, as these stones usually only form in a dog with liver shunt/MVD unless it's a dalmation, which obviously, your yorkie is not. Crystals, inappetance, vomiting, etc. are signs of possible liver problems.

| update Kirby is spending another day or two in hospital...but at specialty one. They are testing his liver. They did more regular exrays adnnow are doing barium exrays. they ruled out and obstruction inintestines. But did find a possible 1 1/2 " sq object in tummy.....thinking it is his crunchy chewy bone. IT is not moving along. He has bacteria in th eintestines and tummy. also still being treated for UTI. Is still vomitting. been given anti vomit meds and dextrose. unable to feed him due to testing and posssible surgery. HE perked up a bit after the IV as reported per Doc. worried worried. He is too tiny .
