| Gracie ate a plastic eye off of a toy! This morning I happened to notice that Gracie had chewed the plastic eye out of her toy monkey and was working on the other one. I have to assume she ate it because I cannot find it anywhere. It is about the size of a pea. Do you think she will pass it OK or should I worry?

| Omg, I never now allow my yorkies to have toys with any kinds of eye's in them. years ago.. a new rescue took the eye out and it was large.. I had to push up on her and try to dislodge it.. I was losing her.. I did not know I got it out, I was panic stricken.. ran outside to the neighbors with my nightie on.. knocking at the door...screaming at my neighbor to not let my dog die.. she sent me in the house, her 4 kids getting ready for school and sassie right out of it.. she breathed through her nose... and had to do this 4 times to bring her back.. after that... dog toys only,.. no stuffed animals of any sort to get caught in their airways.. for them to die... it was something I have never forgotten.. But many times we learn the hard way.. I did not have yt back then.. and have learned so much prior to finding this forum.. and am still learning since be a member,... glad all is ok with her... and glad it was a small eye.. not one of those larger ones... |

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | She should pass it. The worst thing would have been if it had gotten lodged in her throat. I dont' know why they make dog toys with those eyes. They know dogs like to chew. I make it my policy to not buy toys with anything but sewed on features. Hope everything is ok.

| It maybe hidden somewhere. When we first got Punkin we put a collar and tiny bell on her. It was not a popular decision. Within 10 minutes the bell was gone. We thought she swallowed it. We hunted high and low for that thing for days. A year and a half later we found it. |

| Petsmart has a TON of toys that have sewn on eyes and noses. No plastic though- Buy the ones that have stitched on eyes. Always good to cut all tags off of toys too. avg toy could cost 6-8.00 but worth it. |
