| I have 2 with LP but both are ok and doesn't require surgery at this time if at all...one is grade 1 the other is grade 2. Both are overweight and now on a diet. Being overweight causes more problems with LP so easier to deal with if the dog is kept at a good weight. I will opt not to have surgery unless absolutely necessary. Both are starting glucosmine to promote healthy joints. Not all with LP require surgery. Donna Bird Brooklynn's Yorkshire Terriers |

| My little girl Shelby just had LP surgery on both of her back legs a little over a week ago. The surgery was successful and because of all the help and encouragement from YT members that were experienced with this...... I got thru it..... and now we are on a road to recovery. You can search my previous threads to follow some of Shelby's story. Feel welcome to PM me if you want to...... I am sure that there are others that will be glad to help you also! Good Luck!

| My Libby has LP grade two. I am giving her a glucosamine complex each day (Flexicose) in hopes of keeping it at a 2. My vet also told me that I should keep her skinny. She's not really skinny, but just right, and shouldn't gain any more weight, as that would be hard on her knees. I also think it's important for them to have exercise to keep the tendons and muscles strong around the kneecap. I could be wrong about that, but I know that's how it is for humans, so I figure it's the same for dogs. Good luck with your little cutie!
