Default Hurt back leg- scared me bad!!!!!

I was on PC- Bf said Banjo took off running and jumped from like 3ft out up on the couch- got half way on it fell back hit coffee table- and he yelped, and yelped! He still is not putting weight on one back leg- but he ate Peanut butter out of his Kong, and drank, and hops around! I am headed for the vet- first thing in the AM. He is not crying, and will let you touch it! But boy, if I get 3 feet from him- he wants Mama back by him! I feel so sorry for him! I think he is better than I am- I am still shaking!
Since he is not crying and is eating and drinking- don't you think it will be ok to go in AM??

oh gosh how your heart must be going 90 to nothing... take a deep breath if you can and give him lots and lots of love till you can get him seen...

these babies fear nothing.. we should have named all the boys superman ..because they pull so many stunts....

we do everything to protect them then they wanna go off and show us tricks and hurt themselves ... so innocently I am sure you were having a peaceful evening ... I am sure it will all workout .. keep us posted .. Ill be looking for your update

hugs
vicki

Default Keep him very, very quiet

If you have a carrier where your baby will sleep without thrashing, I would keep him in it tonight. He sounds like he landed hard on it, but that nothing is badly broken. My little one walked off my son's bunk in the dark, not realizing how far it was to the ground. We all cried, but like your baby, he hopped at first, then slowly started walking. He didn't stumble when he walked, just acted like a child who had a fall and was scared.
I think he will be fine until morning as long as you watch him closely. Is he alert? Does he wag his tale when you are near? Does he follow you with his eyes and head when you move a treat back and forth in front of his face? Does he seem irritable when you try to hold him? Use the same criteria you would for deciding if a child needs to go to the emergency room.
I wouldn't let him run around until you are certain that he is okay.

Yes, he is very alert, If I get up- he watches me! He chewed on a chewy for a bit, ate, and drank, and he has walked just holds back leg up!And he is fine when I hold him! And you can touch his leg.
He is in his play pen now- laying down! BF thinks it is like a sprain or he twisted his leg!but he is going to vet first thin in the AM! My vet probably would of met me at his office tonite- but he is like in his 80's- yea, 80's and he has been so good to me for years and years- I just cannot drag him out on a Sun. nite! But he probably would come to my house if I asked! Not anymore- he has paid his dues!
If he thinks i need to- then it will be to the vet school- which is just 40 miles away!
He just looks so sad and confused! He has never really been sick or hurt! He has had a hard week- we went to STL to my sister's- and me to get test run- and he got left- which he had only been left for a few hours- ever! Poor baby! I am not going to sleep well tonight!
MORE medical bills!! there goes next weeks groceries! I just spent a ton on my medical issues! Oh, well u gotta do , what u gotta do- and all that matters is he is ok! He is my little love!

Default He may be "All Better" by morning

Remember when you were little and fell down? You limped until you had a good night's sleep. Chances are he will be absolutely perfect when he gets up in the morning. I held mine all night long (I know, should have used the carrier.) But in the morning, he was almost perfect. We just leashed him outside so he didn't run wildly, and didn't go to the vet at all. Your instincts will tell you if he needs to go to the doctor in the morning. If he still holds it awkwardly or won't put pressure on it in the morning, I would see the doctor. These little guys are toughies.

Well, He is still not putting a back leg down- off to the vet we go in a bit!

He looks so sad- and the cat keeps walking by him- and stopping and looking at him, because he is not chasing her!
Everyone is UPSET!!I was up about 6 times during the night! I feel so bad for him! My baby looks so pitiful- and I am just sick that he hurt his leg!

Well, he had a chipped bone. so I am very glad I took him to the University vet school! They gave him pain med's and took xrays- and it is a chipped bone right under the knee, the way I got it! He is in a splint!and e-collar- and still sleepy! I got to read all the info they gave me then will post in the general section!
I feel so bad for him!
And another shocker- he weighs over 9lbs!!!!!!
